This is scary yet neat at the same time… big brother can shut you down anytime they want… at least in a GM vehicle.

    but…

perhaps some of this behavior is to safeguard people from being hurt, maimed, killed, or worse which is hard to argue. Thankful OP is getting his truck back quickly, not 3 months later.

so yes, I can see what he typed. However, the title itself is awfully damn dramatic. He is screaming for attention, he is begging for attention, he says one thing then he says something different.

One of the biggest waste of my time of the week…….

Says he's not mad about it.
    Contacts Toyota regarding his dealer.
Which is it? Its cool either way; its just to be expected when you get the recall notice, read it, and decide to take the truck in.

    1. Service advisor said " Toyota requires us to hold the truck until its fixed". As suggested here by all the Karens, I was not going to go nuclear and freak out on the service writer and start calling the police for grand theft auto.
    2. Recall notice says nothing about repair procedure. Toyota won't allow the parts to be ordered until the inspection meaning everyone who fails will need to leave their truck until parts arrive.
    3. If you read the thread, which clearly you didn't, I just reached out to Toyota for clarification. Not mad, not upset and not not complaining. C'mon dude read a bit.

Sorry I'm trying to give people heads up on this as many have not brought their trucks in for the recall and may be caught off guard with needing to leave their truck.

Toyota must be different from Honda...alot of parts are VIN specific, and need to be ordered after inspection.
Now the Service Advisor will tell you to leave it,but we cant seize a vehicle..if the customer doesnt want to leave His/Her vehicle..they will note on the RO ,that it isnt save to drive and the customer is taking there vehicle without repair.

The service advisor sent me the updated repair procedure from Toyota. They have to upload pictures to a website and include all the details. The part is then auto ordered by this website.

I'm sure Toyota wants people to leave their trucks, so they don't have to risk any more liability and don't have to put the steering wheel and components back together to just have to do it all over again.

Yes..On some recalls we have to send pictures also to Honda Techline...then they will give us a Reference Number that is required to order the part.

Toyota also put a stop sale on 1300 tacoma trucks made from 2023 Tacoma Late March 2023 – Early August 2023.

I'm sure that's the reason why many on here had their trucks delayed.

Eh, a GM vehicle will shut down anytime it wants in the first place without outside help

    1. Going nuclear isn't required if you don't want to leave the truck. Just communicate. Ask for the keys back; explain you'd like to have it fixed, but at another time or elsewhere (assuming you do - you didn't though, so no big deal, as you stated).
    2. Common sense says they're going to have to order a part/repair something if you're truck turns out to be affected by the recall. If you're unaware of the procedure, its your responsibility to call and ask about it. You would have known the extent had you called beforehand.
    3. I read the entire thread before making my post; everyones not as stupid as you'd believe them to be. Differing opinions don't have to be taken with offense, and contrary to popular belief, two people with differing opinions can both still be right (or wrong). You can say one thing, and something else can be implied. You can claim you just want to be informative and helpful, and you're probably right. That helpful desire can also be rooted in your dissatisfaction with the way things played out. Both can be true. And if they're not, so be it; but its the internet and you've been here long enough to know that people are going to comment on the "implied" things, whether true or not. Don't take offense to it.

It's still painfully obvious you have not read the thread. please move on. Go argue in the mirror.

And its certain you didn't read... which was evident the dickhead post you made and deleted after a few minutes. Remember... we get email notification when people post in a thread we created.

If you need a refresher, I can gladly post it...

Its painfully obvious that people call your BS, and you can't fathom it. If you don't wanna be on the internet, don't make public posts. Your entire thread is "dealer forced me." Its false.

READ READ READ. lol It's not hard man. It's still painfully obvious you either can't read or understand what you read.

Pulling stuff out of context to try and prove your week points for the sake to argue on the internet is really pathetic.
