My spare tire area is exactly that. An open area. Spare is in the bed. Not collecting tens of thousands of miles of road crud.

Flip a coin/throw a dart, just be consistent with it and everything will treat you well.

My only qualifier is since I splash around in the woods for fun, I don't want to leave oil slicks, I use lanolin/wax (woolwax, fluid film, etc, thanks Jason!)

Mine is under there but as of this week I'm on a 5k 5 wheel rotation, so that should help!

I just watched a few of those Repair Geek videos. It sounds like Blaster Surface Shield lasts longer than Fluid Film and the others. I’m going to do Fluid Film on one side of the truck and Blaster on the other and see how it holds up.

Fluid film is thinner than Woolwax due to added solvents. Woolwax doesn't add solvents to theirs. I saw the vid on the Blaster but wasn't totally convinced by what he was saying

I had my runner done with Surface Shield first, then fluid film or wool wax the other treatments

So I was doing the hang out and sign papers today...
and the only option the truck didn't have that I want was mudguards...
So he's like sure, we can get those...
    I'm like what's the price...
    $179....
I as him if there are any on the lot with them so I can look at the length etc..So after looking I like them I think they are dead on ringers for Weathertech, might even be "rebranded"
So the Weathertechs are $159...I figure $20 to install them..Sure

and he says "Oh no, $179 is the price...There's an install fee"
    So for laughs I ask...
    It's a 1.5 labor hour job...so...$329 ($150 LABOR) for mud guards!...Ha...no...thanks...

So for shits I ask "what about a bedmat....what's the labor on that?" 0.5hr...To install a bed mat!!!!

Oh and because I got MSRP...they wouldn't throw in the mudguards...
SO if I overpaid THEN they would include them :)

For whatever reason the blaster seems to not wash off as easily in his testing. Both fluid film and blaster are $10.50 a can at Home Depot. I already have a few fluid film cans but will grab a few blasters too. Hopefully still some decent weather to do it.

You replace them or remove them?
Stock for whatever wheel wells adaptable to 2023 from your 2020? Sure...

Will you install them for $150 too?

Better yet I'll bring them to the dealer to install...

I would be looking for another dealer. A half hour to literally throw a mat from a box to the bed of a truck. There is a reason they’re called stealerships

I mean maybe 1.5hr for someone who's never installed um. I did both rear in about 15 minutes.
