That's interesting, I didn't think the R value was that high per inch. Did a quick search and most sites say closed cell is about R-7 per inch. Maybe your installer meant the end result would be like R-19 equivalent or maybe the internet is wrong but I hope you get as much R as you can. Looks good.

Curious about what your plans are for venting in regards to moisture and air quality? Looks like you have the soffets foamed in and no ridge vent. Are you going to be running a fan or some other type of roof vent?

More R, More good but if r19 is the end result of 2" of foam then I'm changing my mind to, No, It isn't worth it.:D

That's what I'm here for, the mods and the gear.
Sounds like it will be warmer than my first apartment when I moved to Wisconsin.

Correction, walls will be technically rated about 19R and roof deck about 21-25R.

No ventilation needed by creating a conditioned, closed space, but I can add a dehumidifer if needed. I'll be having a powered vent installed for welding/painting, too.

On paper, R value is more with batts. In reality, the foam outperforms batts. With the space I have, it will be perfect for my needs.

You have to consider the foam is completely sealing air cracks.
That alone counts for a handful of R's in my eyes. Unless that's already factored in.
Not real up to date on how to measure R rating.

Ahh got it, thanks. Curious to see how your venting works, it's one of those things to me that everyone in the trades has their opinions on it but they don't universally agree that you need a fan/dehumidifier in certain situations. Same goes for vapor barriers - you'd think it's voodoo based on the wide array of responses you get online and from real life contractors. Makes it hard for us home gamers to make good decisions when even the pros can't all agree on a topic.

And yeah I agree your CCF spray goes beyond just R value, the sealing factor is way bigger than most make it to be. I think it will serve you quite well.

It would be different if I had an attic space, but I'm keeping the roof deck open.

Ultimately I think it'll be great and I trust the opinion of the pros who have been doing it for quite a while.

I'm thinking that at least one winter mod day will be in order.

I wouldn't be able to associate with you anymore if you didn't.

I think a healthy single digit temp day is in order. :)

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
The nice thing about having the roof insulated is that any heat you use in the garage won't cook the shingles.

Speaking of mods, it looks like the sales are steadily increasing. Good luck to your credit cards during this holiday season, my friends.

Not to try and thread slide, but I thought some of you might be interested in seeing a Taiwanese traditional market. It’s a bit long, but watch at least until you see the fresh beef and seafood! It’s unlike anything we have in the great state of WI!

I also came across this the other day, jealous!

So, originally I was thinking of leaving the bumper alone where it is and trim the ends off. Now, I am having second thoughts... It hits, so I was hoping to come up some and maybe even bob a bit off the frame... back to the spring perches. If I turned the bumper mounts over on top of the frame rather than the bottom I can gain 2-3 inches plus the approach angle. Its really only some time and steel, and a bit of redoing the mounts I made to strengthen the mess from the Hammer Hangers. Anyone want a silver premade Coastal Offroad bumper???
