Potentially a big day Friday for rockets… 2nd integrated starship test could happen if reg approval goes thru, and weather cooperates.

 

I have a Wolverine controller made by Razer for my PC. Always been a console gamer until a few years ago I built a PC but still wanted a controller to use. SCUF gaming is one of the bigger brands making controllers as well.

PC gaming for the win

 

Haha no sir they are not. I think I paid around 100 for my Razer Wolverine but the SCUF controllers can be well over that. The advantage really being the extra back buttons that can be added so you can set them to match thumb buttons and never takes your thumbs off the sticks of the controller. I set my back button to jump and find that useful but I’m not competitive by any means and now more than ever I’m getting destroyed in FPS games like Call of Duty or Fortnite by children that sound 10 haha.

 

Me and my group of late 20s/ early 30s friends routinely get ruined by children on fortnite and rocket league, it hurts lol

 

I played the old Fifa 23 online vs other people and got so mad because I was constantly getting wrecked, that I used to have rage fits.

This year's (which is no longer called Fifa but EA FC instead), I'm going to try and stay away from that.

I get mad enough playing it offline as it is... I don't need the added stress of online play.

 

Mmo's or arpg's all day. Huge fan of 7days to die

 

Have you played Fort recently? They went back to old maps so a bunch of old players are back and just destroying people. I’ve played a handful the last few weeks and having fun but getting kicked bad haha. Rocket league has some decent match making so it’s a little more fair it seems.

Sports games are tough too. Especially FIFA it seems like people only play that game and get extremely good. It took me a while to get decent and i had to play consistently to get there.

 

Console rat here patiently waiting for the new version to drop. Love watching the Neebs 7 days to die series.

Speaking of Rocket League...

The team that I like from back home (Sporting Clube de Portugal) also ventures into a bunch of other sports. One of them being eSports.

And they have a Rocket League team that competes in a league in Portugal. They just qualified today for next round.

 

Oh yeah cost of gaming equipment and games has followed the overall trends. Regular wireless controllers are at least 59 bucks a piece, I know Microsoft makes a “pro” which is above 100. Games now at least 60 or 70. It’s pretty wild. The push for me and a few friends to switch to PC and stop console was the always changing consoles. Every few years it a whole new system, console prices went crazy as well. Plus availability was an issue too. Now let’s be honest, I didn’t build the cheapest PC out there but I’m hopeful I’m not stuck spending big money on a whole new setup in a few years.

 

Most current system I have is PS3, I got a first run of that one 3 years ago with minimal usage. First console I owned that was standard wireless controllers.

Friend of mine was a PC builder, I think you might recall me mentioning the setup he left me in 2021.

Plus side is with the PC versus console you can upgrade it a bit at a time if you choose to.

 

With a PC though, sometimes all you need is to swap out a part and then you're back in business. (GPU, PSU, processor, MOBO, etc) To your point having to buy a whole new system blows. Plus having a pc in which you can literally do MANY other things is way better than having a console where all you can really do is video games and movies.

 

True, I still have a lot of my older systems and do play them. Perfect world I can find a working PS1 or get someone who knows about them to fix mine.

 

Dont get me wrong......nothing like breaking out the N64 and firing up a little golden eye or mario kart. But I find myself at the computer 99.5% of the time and that includes watching youtube/tv/sports/etc.

 

If you want one thing to do it all, that's the way ain't no bones about it.

Never had the N64 actually, still have the SNES plus the NES and SNES minis
