Seems likely. The strike probably helped Toyota, too. Ancient news now. Time to ship the production trucks and see where the chips land. The next six months should be interesting with the Tacoma, Land Cruiser, and Lexus GX 550 launches.

Was expecting to see one at Sema, but nadda. Don’t think it exists yet. While the Tundra got an all new one.

I like it, since it hides most of that hideous grill.

Was the Gen 3 anywhere near as anticipated as the Gen 4?

I don’t think so, since it was basically a warmed over 2nd Gen. Where-as us Toyota geeks have been waiting decades for a majority revamp, and this is it. Not sure why Toyota is dragging their dick in the dirt for so long with it. I find it a major turn off, makes me want to jump ship.

Don’t even think the 2nd Gen from the 1st Gen was this major either, though don’t think Toyota had quite the following yet as it does today, and the internet hadn’t quite exploded just yet either.

Yeah, I look at Gen 3 as Gen 2.1.

I am just glad its almost here and that it strikes my fancy quite a bit more than everybody here. I want a TRD OR with the over the world too big display on the center dash, I want the turbo engine, and I wants me those rear disc brakes and the new cool rear suspension, and It must come with that weird stick in the middle and 3 pedals under the dash and I hope it includes a surgery to install me a third leg so dat I can use all those lovely pedals

You can get it with a trail hunter which was said back in the summer . They have over 100 after market parts available. Wait till the builder is out...have a feeling it will be confusing this time around with a the options

Toyota is very slow to change, which is good for reliability. However I am not getting any younger either.

Believe the 4G is going to be stellar, however if it were me, would have continued to sell the HiLux platform here with the addition of a diesel engine (and never made the Tacoma in the first place) decades ago and called it good. Could of had a “real truck” engine with decent fuel economy nearly 30 years ago, which is sad to think.

Did read that, but would like the see it in the flesh so to speak.

Yeah the option page is going to read like a Brolanders catalogue.

For me, absolutely. Owned a Gen 2 (2012) TRD Sport a $45k truck with no heated mirrors,:annoyed: I live in the Great White North. Gen 3 has the heated mirrors along with a sunroof and electric sliding rear window. I'll buy a Gen 4 but I'll wait a year just like I did with Gen 3.

Yep. Pre-prepared rock pile with a lot of dirt packed in between rocks. TRD Jon over the same spot:

The 2G was hyped pretty good. It was far and away better than any midsize. Waited 3-4 months for my 06. A lot of that was side curtain airbags tho.

No heated mirrors is the only real complaint I have with my truck. At one point I was going to swap in mirrors from a Sienna. It’s annoying at times but not worthy of buying a new vehicle.

What a tool. Posing with a press truck on a fake rock garden.

Was it? All I remember was people complaining that it was too big and too plasticity.

Never paid too much attention to it otherwise. Never liked it enough to buy one and skipped that gen altogether. Didn’t even want to buy my 3G, but got tired of fixing the 1G.

Lived without heated mirrors up until 2 years ago, forget the truck even has them. A few miles into my commute, and go “oh yeah…” then push the button.
For a staged course, should have made those whoops a little shallower so it wouldn’t show how maxed out the articulation is. Ya know

Not really. Kissing auto manufacturers asses and talking to myself on videos is about the last thing I would want to do for a career.
