Found some damage to our new Tacoma tonight. Whats this trim part called and can it be purchased, where, or must it be painted? Color is silver. Difficult to search if using wrong term. "wheel arch trim" maybe? Lucky, no body damage.

I don’t think you are going to like the price. My basic black plastic ones are beat to hell and out of curiosity i checked prices and found prices in the 100’s of dollars. Replacing them is not something I’m going to do. If you take the truck anywhere near brush, trees, and/or rocks, you will scratch and gouge them.

It’s just cheaper repaint it . You still have to paint it even if you buy another one.

@Syncman Call up your local salvage yard and see if they can find one in the system. Or maybe find a set on the marketplace here on the forum. Some times they pop up because someone switched to the black flares from the OR model.

And sorry this is your first post! Hope you like the truck otherwise!

Bounce off a concrete wall or a parking post? Running boards/sliders might have saved you

Thanks for the help. The wife turned too sharp out of a parking spot. Clipped a white plastic bumper. It’s her vehicle. Was hoping I could get a color match flare. There’s a tiny spot where paint rubbed off. The white marks on origional pic rubbed off. Is there color match touch up paint available? It’s 3 weeks old

Vinyl wrap is also an option. Plus you could have fun with it with a textured or patterned vinyl

After market fender flares if you want to go on the cheap. You may be able to buff out most of that stuff on the body. Insurance quote probably about $1,892.95. Not Sure what your deductible is so, you could also order color matched factory fender flares and have the damage on the rear door area buffed out best as can be. The fender flares you can watch Youtube videos and replace yourself or find a local "guy."

You can buff and repaint, just buy the clips that will be your cheapest option. Or find used fenders if you’re lucky enough. They go real quick! I did the same once I found out how much OEM costs lol

You can live with a minor blemish unless your obsessed with perfection.
Someone back into my 2020 Tacoma
at a grocery store parking lot, leaving a good sized dent in the end of the plastic cover of the bumper.
I yelled out too late to stop.
The tall red haired lady got out and said "my husband called me an air head". I just laughed and said " I'm an airhead too. Let's just pretend this never happened and get out of here". LOL. Careful what you wish for.
If you register or report the damage in a claim the value of your vehicle will decline because of the claim regardless of who's at fault.
Insurance central reporting will expose it. But now you probably have more minor blemishes. Live with it.

Typically minor damage will be listed as minor damage and photos help when time to sell. Of the hundreds of cars I have bought and sold in the car business in 38 years its not a big deal, now major damage is and the prices normally reflect that. Pay out of pocket because the wife damaged it and it won't show on a report.
