Do you guys think cranking and running engine breifly with stock ecu could work. When I swap my engine and install supercharger I will probably have to pull my truck out of garage and move it to a different bay at work once I get it running. No highway driving.

Or could I run truck on TRD tune without supercharger installed? Like, get ecu tuned, install, and then idle my truck around the parking lot to pull it into bay to swap engine.

Im sure it will run rich but will it be ok to putt around my work parking lot?

I cant have my truck in my bay at work without an ecu in it and not being able to move it.

If you run a s/c specific tune, you’ll run lean if you don’t install the injectors that come in the kit.

Injectors and supercharger will be installed with new engine.

Basically trying to either get swap done, crank truck and move it on stock tune. Or install TRD ecu and pull truck in bay and then do the swap

I cant tie my bay up and work and truck is to heavy to push into a different bay

Install Supercharger, Crank truck and move on stock tune.

That's how it was done back before OVT or HPT. And how I did it.

Installer would install the hardware....owner would baby the truck to the toyota dealer for the ecu flash to the TRD blower tune. Post-flash, pedal to the metal.

Getting near the end of my install and a little stumped right now at step 235 - https://treperformance.com/pdf/327003. Where does this ventilation hose come from? I don't see anything dangling.

what year is your truck? The S/C had to inlets there and if your on a later truck (maybe just auto) one of them is plugged. the other would be connected. i don't think it matters which one is connected or plugged. I recall I had a similar question but was asking if I need two since I only had one hose available. pic of what yours looks like or whats connected.

You should have at least 1 ventilation hose that is not connected. If you have one that is then you need to plug the other inlet on the S/C. I don't recall if the stock box had it or there was a part in the kit for it.

I already plugged that one that should be for the brake booster since I have an electronic booster. The other barb coming out the side is connected to the VSC unit. This is a final third barb that is pointed downwards. Thanks, Gil

Congrats on what looks and sounds like a great buy, with the exception of the "factory tune." @JustDSM can do much better than that.

@Norton nailed it. toyota tune is safe and works but @JustDSM turns crayon scribble to calligraphy with tunes.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
PCV valve hose from drivers valve cover. Make sure it is in good condition, firm, not kinked, because it is under vacuum and will try to suck closed. This is also the hose that you would route through a catch can if you install one, to prevent the oil vapors and other garbage floating in the blow-by from being re-introduced to your intake, coating the rotors and intercooler. Although factory does it this way, those vapors are combustible but also good at depositing carbon in places you don't want it to be.

This is exactly what I have done.
When I put on the Supercharger last year at 105k miles I replaced the PCV valve in the cover and put a catch can in there too. I drain mine ever oil change.

Thanks, I had pinned it back behind the supercharger and was able to fish it out and connect it. Other steps completed, but unfortunately the truck is sputtering at start. Apparently bigger problems to diagnose at the moment :(.
