Don't think so..drivers side was blowing oil out...both measure 28 inches extended...I'll find the extended length of the Elkas..but they where much taller.
    Road test today?...like butter...way smooth!!

On topic, does anyone have rear shocks that they went with and didn't like? I have always wanted fox but for what we do here, I'm not sure there's any advantage from one to the other. Icon seems fine, Billies seem fine. Not sure I even need resis. Only question then becomes digressive, which I already have or progressive.

Elkas get my vote...Krave still has 20% off. shipped mine were just shy of 700 taxes in...I should actuallyanswer your question...Im not a huge fan of Bilsteins...many are. If you are going Billy's...don't go 5100s...up the ante.

I have fox that are re-valved by accutune, I'm really happy with how they ride and i havent even played with the clickers yet.
@Norilsk is running dobinsons. Just the fact they run oem style lower bushings is very appealing since every other brand runs the shitty needle bearings. I dont know anything else about them though.

Progressive for comfort. Digressive for control (less dive/lean when braking and turning corners).

Make sure the shock has a nitrided instead of chrome plated shaft. Chrome plate will chip with gravel spray.

The 2.0" shocks tend to have urethane lower bushings which are OK. Install with grease and they'll be fine for years. 2.5" shocks usually have lower heim bearings which should be sprayed with teflon every year or so. Rear shocks don't see much angle change so they don't squeak anyway.

no love for linear? quoting accutune... Digressive shocks are bad at small bumps and large bumps, but good at handling and g-outs. Progressive shocks are good at small bumps and big hits, but bad at handling and g-outs. Linear shocks provide the best all around performance.

You tried my Foxes down the farm road. those are Fox2.0s with the resies. In your case, you can totally get away without them and not have an issue. in the few years i had em, i only notice the resies getting hot enough to cook an egg once. Even down the Dempster highway, i didn't notice them fade or anything.

It's personal preference. I'm willing to put up with a shittier ride in exchange for less brake dive and body roll, so I get digressive shocks.

So much for creativity. I guess no one wants to get fired so all the engineers say" wow that's a unique design sir, your the best sir, it's way better than those other designers. :)
Oh wait that's government or is that transit maybe corporations can't remember anymore. Lol
