My Dad lives in SLO. I'm going to send it to him.

 

That's a steal even with the mileage. Says engine was rebuilt at 90k.

 

For $1500 I’m tempted to drive down and pick it up.

 

My Dad messaged the guy. He's been talking about getting rid of his RSV4 for a long distance bike. This sort of project is right up his alley and he wouldn't have to get rid of his current bike to fund the purchase.

 

It sounds like the guy is willing to take a hit on the price so he doesnt have to salvage, start low, meet in the middle. Rear wheel bearings can be a bit of a bitch if the ones in question are within the rear gear, but otherwise it would just be standardish bearings in the hub of the rear wheel itself.

It is a first gen super tenere (2012-2013) so it wont have cruise control (remedied with a 10$ throttle lock) and has aftermarket heated grips (which gen 2 cam standard with). If the motor was rebuilt it will have the latest cam chain tensioner as the part has been superseded and it looks like the gen 1 clutch basket was already upgraded with aftermarket - those are really the only two mechanical differences between gen 1 and gen 2. Has suspension upgrades and all the goodies for use, obviously been used but hey if you can get things back up n running she will go another 90k miles easy.

A good once over on the bike, pull the front triple, grease stem bearings, and tighten the steering nut properly as they are known to loosen up over time (if your pops needs the special socket so you can properly torque the main nut lmk I have it and can lend it to you guys).

Seat concepts has a full foam and seat cover replacement if you wanted to fix the seat.

In other grom related news, saw a guy on FB post a photo of his grom with Navi mirrors on it and it looked good, looked them up and they're $3 a piece for a mirror Obviously ordered a set, shipping cost more than the parts

That bike has seen things and been places. Honestly, kind of an inspiring thing to see one in "rough" shape and still kicking.

 

Haha I showed the link to my wife and she said we should get it despite not having kids (yet).

 

I don’t think it will handle riding two up while trying to make a baby.

 

Ill gladly be thrown under the buss for that.

People should we setup a group present buy and just have it shipped. then @spencermarkd cant be held liable.
