Do you have it configured to the right sensor?
I had the same issue with my base tune when I first got my HT. Don't remember what it ended up being though. I think calibration

 

That’s what I’m looking into. Still stumbling my way around the Haltech os

 

I found this on the Haltech site, but my screen doesn’t seem to offer an option to select a sensor/edit connection. The search continues.

This is what my settings are under the sensor dropdown menu for air temp. Click load from file and find the sensor you have installed.

 

I could use some wiring help for my water meth HT setup.

So ever since I first got all my stuff set up, there was an issue where when the haltech switches off it would turn on the output for the water meth trigger. Which would result in it turning on the pump relay dumping water meth into my intake for as long as the truck was off.

The temporary fix was to add a relay before the pump relay that is tied to key on power. So that way the water meth pump relay doesn't have power unless the ECU is on.

The problem is that there is a very brief second when you turn the key off where the ECU switches off before the relay can. So the pump will turn on for like half a second when I turn the truck off. This causes just the smallest amount of fluid to run down my intake and wet my air filter. So ever since I've had the haltech installed, my air filter has been slightly moist.

Does anyone have any other wiring ideas for preventing the pump from turning on when it's not supposed to? The water meth output is currently wired to DP04 on the ECU. When I talked to haltech customer support, they weren't much help and said that that shouldn't really happen. And according to SNP, the haltech behavior is a product of a software issue and there's nothing I can really do about it.

 

I have my methanol setup as a stand alone.
I can flip a power switch to active the methanol system to be totally on or off.
I thought about having the haltech doing it but the stand alone I have full control of it being on or off and spraying points and being able to purge it at any time too all at your fingertips on the fly

 

I bought the kit from SNP that enables the HT control of it.
At the time of purchase, I was under the impression that I would be able to do progressive water meth. But for whatever reason I was told later than it won't be possible.
Either way, I'd like to control it with the HT because I have it setup now to add timing and pull fuel when it kicks in. would rather have it all controlled under one roof. Plus I don't have the fancy standalone meth controller anyways.

 

I think we can set it up, let me do a little research but I think all you need for progressive meth and to stop your issue with it false firing is a solid state relay with a pulldown resistor to ground on the control side. Then the haltech can control the pump with PWM.

 

I have a solid state relay in there already. And then just a regular relay for the key on power. I dont have the pulldown resistor

 

Are you triggering with ground or positive 12?

 

These were the instructions I got for the relay wiring

 

Okay you're triggering with ground, I'm going to do a little bit of research and get back to you

 

30 is constant power. 87 is the device to be powered. 85 and 86 are interchangeable. One serves the role of ground; the other serves the role of ground. If your relay does not have a built-in fuse in the top (it's abundantly obvious; if you have to guess then you don't have one) then make sure that pin 30 has a fuse prior to the connection with the relay.

My priority is getting it to function as it should without pumping when key off, but eventually tackling the PWM would be cool too.

 

From what I read above, it sounds like you want the Haltech to trigger your relay based on some pre-configured boost level - right?

Assuming that is the case, why not just control that externally with a boost module? AEM has one. Run a boost reference to that device. Set that device according to some level of your choice. Voila. Who cares what device you use? It shouldn't matter if it's AEM, that European "Snow" company (I can't remember the name; I am a dolt). The goal is for the relay to activate the pump. You just need some mechanism to do that.

 

Ya that's how I have it currently wired.
Any accessory wired to battery positive in my truck is fused.

 

IMPO, the AEM control unit is quite nice. The only drawback according to the documentation is that it must be kept in the cabin; however, I am not sure how true that really is. The only negative feedback I have heard is that some user alleged that the terminal connector fried. My gut says, however, that they did not add a fuse before the unit.

 

In this case with an aftermarket computer that's equipped for methanol injection control it's better to let it control it because it can use it for engine protection routines... And since we really only need it for cooling down boost charge can also pull out fuel while it's firing so you don't go overly rich.

 

By the way, I hate to be "that guy" but is water methanol injection truly worth it anyway? It's another system to tune around, which could be troublesome if you run out of fluid.

I use a thermal intake gasket and it works W O N D E R S preventing heat soak to my intake system.
