It sucks that they discontinued them. It is the only design that is internally mounted.

I too went with the 4WP stiffener. I did some research and all the stiffeners that everyone seemed to tout takes away bed space and creates an issue everytime your loading the bed. The 4WP does take awile to install...I know everyone says an hour or so, I probably took 3 hours from start to finish but I'm mechanically challenged. Anyway, I never have to think about an 'L' bracket everytime I load my truck. Once installed...it's gone. None of the others do that. Don't know any advantage to the one's externally mounted other than they would be easier to mount. Pro: mount it and it's gone...Con: can take awile to install. At $100, it's hard to beat.

I had an order in early April/May. It sat pending shipment, I was checking the website and noticed it was discontinued. I called and they said that it was true and they needed to refund me. Not sure why the system isn’t automated.
I wanted this style to avoid any issues with cargo in the bed. I have a set from Greenlane in order since they are stainless.

It is a bit infuriating how lazy all the other fab companies are in designing bed stiffeners, and how unpractical they are for loading/unloading the bed. They are all basically copycats of a stupid design.

Group think, got to love it. It's the same thing with rear/front bumper design. Very little originality or creativity. But people keep throwing good money after bad, so why stick your neck out to buck the trend as a fabricator.

Make a cardboard cutout, using your own vehicle for mock up, and I'll cut you out a set for free :burp:

I don't know of a single 3rd Genner personally out here.

Yeah weird, I was in the market for a set just recently and saw that the 4WP version wasn't available. OP must have had impeccable timing. Ultimately I ordered from DRT Fab.

I've moved into new homes twice and helped others move four or five times with my truck. Never once have I thought "these bed stiffeners that stick out several inches less than the bedsides are totally in the way of me making the most of this bed."

    pinstripes. lots of pinstripes.
I might be inclined to take one of mine off and mail it to you to replicate if there's this much interest, but that's quite a bit of wrenching and mailing and mailing and wrenching.

Has anyone ordered/received these since the last post was made? I ordered in March, and like many of you spent way to much time trying to get my money back after 4+ months of no communication from 4WP.

It appears they are now available to order but still "backordered".
Unfortunately I think this is currently the best solution for bed stiffeners, especially if you have a custom bed/camp build-out. the traditional
options get in the way and are nothing more than overpriced L-brackets

Man, I could be very interested in this, and willing to pay for your time & materials! Not 100% sure what/how to measure, but if this is still on the table let me know and we'll work it out. Could be awesome to offer a limited batch to interested TW members, and happy to help get a prototype made.

I wouldn’t be opposed to removing mine to make templates, but I wonder if 4WP owns a patent on this design.

That site is just poorly designed/maintained. The stiffener product page goes form discontinued to back-ordered on an hourly basis. 4WP told me they are straight up discontinued. Do what I did and buy second-hand.

In regard to making a copy, the stiffeners are curved, so not gonna be easy to replicate.

That's why I didn't understand what the poster meant.

A press brake makes easy quick work of that, or worst case a relief cut for a sharper radius in the event that you don't have a nice die set to achieve an air bend.

An air bend is necessary due to the flange to feature distance unless you just drill put the holes after the bend.

    Regardless, easy to replicate.
