Deer hunting BS thread

It is very hard to find land to hunt there, we are fortunate to have 44 acres a friend lets us hunt. I used to hunt in Halifax as well, around the town of Halifax at Roanoke hunt club.

 

I prob wont ever shoot a decent buck like that. #1 they shoot about anything in my immediate area. Last year had a small 8 point on game camera, never saw him again after hunting season, he woulda been nice a couple years down the road.#2 my place isnt really big enough to hold them here. But theres does and small bucks which im ok with a mature doe. #3 im too lazy to travel to find public land to shoot any.

Our rifle opener is tomorrow. Can’t wait to see what kind of fuckery the assholes I’m surrounded by try and pull . It’s always some kind of cluster fuck . Trespassers ,or someone’s dogs running through the woods . My neighbor who thinks he is a hunter has permission also and walks in with a light when I can already see with my bad eyes Im hunting the far outer edge of a sanctuary/bedding area that he walks into with the wind at his back then climbs in his ladder stand about 200 yards to my 1 o’clock. I’m already been in my stand for 45 minutes when this knuckle head arrives. Then there’s the constant quads and side by sides cruising the property line . First thing I would do if I hit the lottery would be leave NewYork and buy a huge farm in Iowa . ahhhhhh,rant over . Good luck everyone!

 

Seemed like a tough season, 9 days here in NE, but really in 3 sits I shot 2 deer. I cant complain about that. Real light on pics, doe came out with 10 min left and I shot her with maybe 2 left opening morning. Let the farm sit 5 days, didnt see anything last night. Cold front came in overnight, shot the buck at 0840 while he worked over a cedar tree.

If I have any complaint, it's that I miss my Tacoma's bed. That hauler is great if you have 2 people. Getting a mature deer on to it solo reminded me of a love story I once heard about a monkey and a football.
