Did you have to schedule the PMs so no two areas of the conveyor were down at the same time and only pming shrink wraps that were in the same lane at the same time etc.

We did try to PM all equipment in one line at the same time. We also tried to have the same techs PM certain equipment. Each crew was responsible for PMing equipment in a certain area in the plant. That plant has approx 4500 pieces of equipment in the system.

That’s exactly how we have it set up. Each tech has “owned” assets and each shift is responsible for certain assets. There is just so many things to consider when planning things out like if SG 44 is due for a PM. They like to do SG 46 at the same time. So I need to plan those two techs to do those assets at the same time. But I also have to be mindful of if one of the techs is running errors that day if somebody is scheduled off, etc.. I also need to get clear on how many p.m. hours they need. I am supposed to schedule up to 80% of their day but they have indirects that they are responsible for also that are included in that 80% so today I’m gonna sit down and just start figuring the math so I have that information. One manager told me he likes 35 PM hours a week. I scheduled his day on Friday and it was in the 60s but it was because a lot of PMs are due so it wasn’t an option to scale back.

You will get to the point where you will know exactly what needs to be done, when and by who. Later in the game you should be able to go into the PM modules and make changes so certain ones are due on a certain day of the week. Makes scheduling a lot easier. We had crews that work first part of week and second part of week. Our PMs on the critical equipment had to be done on Sundays (none production day).

It really doesn't matter that much, their goal is to spend as much time in the break room as possible. You're prolly better off penciling in 80% break time/20% pretending to be busy.

    :hattip:

    You're welcome
