I'm trying to find a Ham Radio Mic holder and cell phone holder integrated into one. Specifically for ICOM 2730a mic which comes with a non traditional style attachment.

I am using a X Ram holder right now for my cell phone but want to change it for a dual functional holder and not make things look bulky.

    https://jeepuniq.com/

I am looking for something like jeepuniq but they make integrated mic and handheld holders... No integrated mic and cell phone holder..

    Any ideas??

I just set up the same radio. I’m impressed you used the sunglasses holder and kept it functional. I decided to remove the holder for mine. I wanted to pass along that I saw someone else hang the radio under the seat by working the bracket over the seat springs and then attaching the radio so it’s off the floor and slides with the seat. Pic of how it worked for me.

Thanks! I was expecting some cutting but no cutting needed at the sunglass holder.

I was going to use a bracket for the main body also under the seat, but I do not think its necessary. Using industrial strength Velcro holds on to the carpet really well, used a large zip tie also around the bottom vent and the body of the radio just for extra security.

I cut two pairs of slits in the carpet and ran zip ties through them to my mount. If I ever have to pull it out, I may swap to Velcro.

Maybe not super clean, but I created a makeshift antenna mount with a short piece of angled steel scrap from the hardware store.

Need a little help from someone with experience. This is the second mount I’ve tried to fit the antenna cable on, but I can’t get the base of the antenna connection through the 3/4” hole. I know just the brass “tabs” need to get through the hole, and not the brass threads, but I can’t even get the tabs through. What am I doing wrong? Feeling really dumb right now but there is just no way I am getting this cable through with force. The mounts are designed to fit NMO antennas so it should be a simple install. IMG_3978.jpg

Your "bracket" is too thick for the NMO. You need a thick surface mount or a thinner bracket; or to properly put a hole in your roof.

I want to put it on my roof I just haven’t committed. I thought about it. After dicking around with the ditch light mount and another one I might finally go that route. I had a feeling thickness of the bracket was the issue, but then was like nah that can’t be it if the brackets are sold as nmo mounts…

You can order NMO mounts for different thicknesses of mounting surfaces. The standard is the sheet metal of an auto body but there are other options. I know that AntennaFarm sells multiple versions.

Mount is only 1/8” thick I didn’t think that would require a special NMO mount but I was wrong. I just ordered another cable that fits any surface up to 1/4” thick so I should be good now. Appreciate the help!

Ive had my Amateur Radio license for about 15 years. Because the truck is brand new it has to be clean. Just finished yesterday.

    Cool stuff
Just finished up, all wiring hidden , Main Unit under the seat mounted to the bottom underside of the seat so no compromise to the vents with wiring ran under the carpet thru the passenger side channel. Coax ran thru the frame rail.

    -Comet SBB5 Antenna
    -Diamond Coax NMO Mount
-Rago CB Mount modified for the NMO
-RG12 keystone passthru for the 3D printed dash blank
-CAT6 shielded extension cable for the remote head

Fake4x4, nice job like the ball mounts and the mic interface.

I recently finished my FTM500DR install also. grabbed a 2.5" PVC coupling covered it with some leather and mounted a plate for the mic. also installed the antenna up down DPDT switch. Now when I drive my arm can rest on the console top and hand on the mic, allows me to make quick changes without taking my eyes off the road. Also, added 2 Icom mini speakers to the rear cab for an almost surround sound effect.FTM500DRx.jpg micmount-3.jpg micmount-2.jpg rearspeaker.jpg

Not yet, I still like it over the OEM shift knob. I wish I would have purchased a more customized version. Guess he's no longer in production. They are nice..Knob.jpg
