    Uh oh......... Paths and Percentages.
I've never been good at math or choosing the correct path.
Are these required skills of a staff member?

All I can tell you is 99.2% of the time, I choose the wrong path.
Any more, I just blaze a new path straight ahead.
That way I know what direction I'm going, and what I'm getting myself into.

One of the guys applied every year after high school and still didn't get in. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Math and a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Still no dice: Pretty sure could have gone to Annapolis. I think he ended up at the JPL. As they say around these parts he-ah:

"He was wicked smart to say the least."

It may not be a "traditional " war format, but there are people fighting for our freedom and way of life everyday. 130+ known or suspected terrorists or supporters have been caught at the southern border this year. Those are public stats from US Customs & Border Protection. And those are the ones we know about. We fight everyday to keep that trash out of our backyard. And we loose officers to violence and suicide far too often as a result of the crap they have to deal with at and near the border, and from the judgemental asshats who know nothing of what they talk about. There is another group, but that risks political comment.

Funny you should say that. My mom was 8 when she came to this country from post Nazi Germany. My dad was 7 when he came from
Nazi ravaged Poland. I’m the first born here. I always think of how fortunate I was after seeing so much of the world that I was born here.

Fighting back responses that turn this political.

So to respond simply, this is very well stated.

Yeah, I heard that for the first time in 86 getting off the cattle truck at Harmony Church on Ft. Benning. Stuck with me. Used the term myself ever since. Most appropriate. Especially going with the British definition.

Thank you for your service as well. I’m gonna catch flack( German 88 probably) for this but Army from 1986 to 1997. Coast Guard from 1997 to 2003. Army from 2003 to 2008. Coast Guard from 2008 til I said adios in 2010 to active duty for a civilian gig overseas.

Coast Guard is no joke. The smallest service does a ton of shit. And the lowest ranked individual is able to work up to and including his supervisor in all roles in case SHTF.

And to my Marine friend that said the Corps has to make fun of all the other services this will make a point: The Coast Guard has 7 more battle streamers than the Marines. Oh, and just to be clear, the only Coastie to get the MOH( Douglas Albert Munro) did it against all odds to save Marines on Guadalcanal. You’re welcome Marine Corps.
