I have a 2004 Tacoma Prerunner and i was out in the desert and hit a big jump which caused my driver side motor mount to snap off my frame. Should i fix it with stock parts or are there upgrades i can do so this won’t happen again?

They're solid motor mounts, not sure if that's what will suite your needs

The motor mount broke off, or the whole perch sheared off the frame? If the perch came off (i.e. welds broke) then you need new perches and will probably/definitely have to pull your motor to weld them on. Recommend heavier perches like the ones from DMZ Fab.

    https://dmzfab.com/product/tacoma-motor-mount-perches/

You will probably want to inspect your perches anyway even if they didn’t shear off, because if the motor mount broke they’re probably not far behind.

All kinds 3 inch body lift/2 1/2 suspension lift. 31/11 1/2/15 tires All work done by myself for years. The only work performed by mechanic was fuel pumps. I also have a 90 Mustang 350 hp and I can never understand how come my Tacoma gets more respect Just got a 99 Jeep TJ that I rebuilt, and painted in the garage
What was it Tyler....Frame or mount.

How was it installing the mounts? Mine are about ready after 20+ years.

it’s pretty easy if you have the right tools and a fork lift

:rofl:You ain't kidding. It was a bitch without a forklift but it was well worth it.
Tip: Remove the transmission cross member and raise and lower the tail to help with moving the engine around as you fit the solid mounts.
