That climb out of Camp Verde heading south is a lulu. My 1G would struggle, basically sit back and look at the view while it was screaming in 3rd gear.

Don’t think the I-Force Max will have the same issue, the turbo alone should be more than enough.

It requires about 20 HP for a passenger car to sustain highway speed.

Figure maybe 25 HP for a light truck?

The 90-second battery burn time does not concern me.

GX550 leaked pricing seems more legit than the "leaked" Tacoma pricing.

    What distinguishes a "+" model?

Hooked to a trailer it's a different story. I generally drive like an old man, but if you are untethered and get on it, it gets illegal more than quick enough for my taste.

Pulling a trailer, not so much lol. I have a spot when leaving my cabin that has you cross a highway and stop in the middle to head the other direction, IE, no on ramp. Pulling onto the highway from a dead stop can be an adventure.

    Pic of said dumb intersection:
    Screenshot 2023-11-18 203202.png

    Red lines are stop signs.

Either the hybrid or regular 4th gen motor would excell here compared to my 3rd gen.

"The Premium+ model adds equipment including a power-adjustable steering wheel, ambient lighting, heated second-row outboard seats, a wireless phone charger, a power-folding third-row seat, and park assist. It offers options including a digital key and heated second-row captain's chairs that reduce seating capacity to six." --probably more, like the Mark Levinson Sound System on the current Premium +.

"The Luxury+ adds adaptive dampers, power-extending running boards, a panoramic sunroof, the Mark Levinson audio system, a digital rear view mirror, and a cool box."

"The Overtrail+ model with much of the same extra equipment from the Luxury trim. This includes a power-adjustable steering wheel, ambient lighting, heated second-row seats, a wireless charger, massaging front seats, and park assist."

For reference, the base GX460 was $60,225, Premium $60,810, and Luxury $70,880. Not sure if it's apples to apples but a 2023 GX460 Premium + is $64,600, so the '24 GX550 Premium + at $67,900 seems reasonable.

4G will be a much improvement over the 3G, similar towing capabilities, but do it so much better.

I can’t wait to drive one and see if the new GX 550 is worth those prices.

In 2025 the GX is supposed to get the option for the same 4T Hybrid as the new LC/Tacoma. Since the 4 will make less hp and tq, it will be interesting to see if they charge more for it because it's a hybrid.

Taconic State Parkway in NY has those crappy intersections sprinkled all over it too. And lots with very little visibility with all the trees. Fun in winter...

Do you have a stock skid plate? I’ve never had to remove the front air dam to remove the skid from my OR, a little pressure and it bends out of the way to make room for the extension bar.

Lexus sure likes to jack up their prices. And the fact the 2025 4Runner hasn’t been shown is suspect.

You expect the 2025 to pop its head above the foxhole this early?

No. Not until May 2024. They need to sell the higher priced Land Cruiser and Lexus first. Sneaky bastards.

My wife has a Premium+ RX350h, it just comes with more standard features like the bigger screen, moonroof, ambient lighting, etc. As someone else mentioned it forces your hand into a predetermined options package by Toyota, much like the Premium packages, Tech, etc. the nomenclature has just changed.

If the hybrid option they opt for is the TT4, that would be upsetting. Numbers between TT4H and TT6 are very similar. No perks besides the possibility of eliminating the "Toyota lag" commonly referred to within the community for those who don't have the hybrid assist. But I don't know if Lexus is plagued by the same logic.

I missed a couple pages. Did anyone post this video of the TrailHunter from the ARB booth at SEMA? This color is sexy.
