Our microwave is now throwing off sparks, so my dad ordered a new one and it arrives on Sunday; I get to scrap the old one!

 

I would have went with a different warning.
Something like "Shoots sparks - Use at your own risk"

That way, every SOB in the house doesn't come ask me "why they can't use the microwave".
And before someone says, Just unplug it. That wont work either. Trust me.
They'll either plug it back in and use it, or ask "what's wrong with it?"

 

Sure do, and Mrs. B as well. The town I grew up in had a plaza with Bradlees, Building 19 (local store that bought closeout/slighty damaged/etc stuff and sold it cheap), and small stores. Spent many a weekend at that plaza.

Didn't you get that one not long ago?

 

Our house was built in 2016 and the microwave is original...

 

Shawn put a foil bag in my microwave today, sparks and fire ensued...

Yep ex-gf's son, he was over today working on his Silverado.

A human being old enough to drive put tin foil in your microwave??

 

He got something from McDonalds, the pouch looked like paper on the outside but the inside was foil, it actually burst into flames!

 

The old Chick-fil-a sandwich bags were the same way.
I can’t say much. Just another lesson learned the “hard way”.

At least I think it was Chick-fil-a.
But definitely I made sparks…..

The new microwave arrived today and we got the old one out...

 

Yep he is a good kid and becoming pretty competent. I can let him loose on most projects now and only have to help him if he gets stuck.

 

You are probably happy to have a functional microwave again.

 

Actually the one my dad ordered ended up being a countertop model and not approved for installation in a cabinet. That one is getting returned and we are back to square one...

 

Picked up some stuff to scrap from a friend of Helen's and did some mild off-roading to access the shed where the stuff was stored...
