Anyone have or know someone with a 5th gen 4runner and would love a set of OEM running boards, I'm your huckleberry. Just pulled them off my '22 with 30k miles. $100 and they're somebody's.

Anyone here in the group done re-gearing? Would you be up for meeting up and take me on a test ride? I am at the point to re-gear and would like to feel what it is like before jumping in. I am talking to ECGS. Are there any reputable/experienced shops in our area that does re-gearing?

 

ECGS is well worth the distance. Not uncommon for members to spend a day and drive down, have them do the work and then do the break in on the drive home. Their work, warranty and customer service can’t be beat.

 

I went down to ECGS in 2017 to get 4.56 in my truck. Could give you a ride if you want, and if you don't mind that i smoke in my truck..

Second what Randy says. They're not that far and the price installed for the bushing can't be beat.

 

Also, the prices in NC aren't gouged like nova prices. Id rather drive down to NC get work done, instead of paying up here

 

@the.sight.picture don't you have 5.29?

 

Off Road Innovations in Winchester has a reputation for doing some pretty solid work. I'm looking into a re-gear as well and they have the 5.29's on the shelf. The only drawback is they are booking 2-3 months out. Not sure on how their pricing compares. Chaos Fab Shop also in Winchester does this as well, but they are known to be a little pricey.

 

I would recommend someone other than ORI.

When I need my 80 series re geared, I'll take it to Anthony, the owner of valley gearing and automotive in Gore VA. He is a certified Yukon gear installer, been to their school and everything in AZ.

He used to work at ORI.

He also doesn't charge nova prices. He is a one man show at the moment so it may take some time, but he does do good work.
