I always laugh when coworkers take vacation time to go hunt deer. Like dumbass we have them here you don't have to go far to hunt them. You could probably take a day off work and have the exact same payoff. If you're going to take some time off at least make it worth hauling back like elk or moose.

That's cool and everything but just call it a fucking vacation like a normal person. One of them just left for 5 days on horseback for this great hunt. He brought back a single buck. Like not only did you spend five days on horseback in some of the worst weather we've had this year you also didn't get anything worth the trip

As for jerky, I just steer away from it all unless it's shark

Had too much jerky over the years especially in the military from care packages

    5 days? Ooof

Was invited to shoot some deer and pheasant the other day, just too busy but that's like something to do semi-local...not take a whole week off for a single buck

I think they could do what they like a little better then. I understand your point though which is why I don't talk about it with anybody at work, I wish they'd do me the same courtesy.

The best is when they put up the picture of these sad fucking little deer. Big Buck Hunter over here just hauled in anorexic Bambi after barely not spooking it from his blind and is parading around like he's Chris Kyle.

Yea, finding big shits not that easy. A tag worth a damn in Utah takes 10+ years to draw or 5k+. It takes me 3 years to draw a general season tag. I'm not about shooting 2 points though, I'll let the kids have them unless they're wounded or something.

Hell, the owner of Jimmy Johns dropped 250k to shoot a buck that he probably could've walked up and pet with how often people drive around that island

That's the thing I really don't get around here for people, it's not hard to get a deer tag. And it's really not hard to find deer here. Half the ones you find in your own neck of the woods you probably could walk up and pet. That's why I'm clowning this one guy specifically is because he had to go get an out-of-state tag to go on this nightmare of a trip and pull in a buck that another buck in his own State probably could have eaten itself.

That's fair. We have friends that come from Kansas every year to hunt elk and rarely shoot anything. Just come to hangout with everyone really. Better than work for sure.

general season elk tags are like $600 bucks for out of staters too.
