Oh there will be some mods all right
Well, today seemed like the day to put the winter wheels and tires on, some new wiper blades, and an oil change. Should set me up for the winter, or at least most of it (if I hit 5,000 miles I'll change the oil even if it's 10 below zero that's how strict I am on oil changes) Switched over to a new oil that I'll be running from now on. Decent price plus super convenient.

I’ve been using those 6qt boxes ever since they came out. Perfect for my 4.6 Ford and 3.5 Tacoma.

They're pretty sweet, definitely going to be using them as along as they're available and the price stays decent.

Or if you follow the maintenance schedule of 10k then you don’t gotta worry about it

If anyone would qualify for the severe duty maintenance schedule it would be me. I am full throttle on a regular basis as well as lots of short trips/stop and go with a decent amount of idling thrown in as well. I'm sure the 10,000 mile service schedule works for some people who do nothing but highway driving but it sure doesn't work for me

I must be a little challenged with fine motor skills and planning skills. I got one of these oil boxes for the first time and changed my oil a week ago. I thought it was a great plan to transfer the oil from the box to an empty quart bottle seven times. Not only did I lose count, but I made the biggest oil mess ever from the dripping and the occasional not shutting off the spigot in time. Whatever the reduced waste savings were made up in paper towels.

    LOL

It might have been more interesting to see me holding a 12 quart box leaning in over the engine. There’s probably an easy way to do this, but again, my planning skills aren’t the sharpest. Maybe I need a flow chart:D

Lol! I have a big old-school funnel… Now I do! There’s a learning curve to not turning the 6-quart box project into an oily shitshow!

Congratulations on the job upgrade (hopefully an upgrade)! Hopefully it's a worthwhile challenge for you!

I'm getting into winter hibernation mode. I've done almost nothing the past few weekends, and it's been fantastic! Laying around, watching movies and TV. It's great!
