My wife wants one to replace her Cayenne.

    Bonus is no hybrid bullshit.

I don’t know my wife isn’t all about the soccer mom I offroad but don’t really look and we’ve had 2 hybrid AWD Toyota / Lexus vehicles and resale along with amazing mpg we will probably always have one. Our new RXh gets 38 mpg even with me driving not bad for awd. Our Rav got 43 mpg consistently. But I get the simplicity standpoint. I really want a GX for her next vehicle but nice having 2 paid off vehicles less than 2 years old in the stable.

If it had a no hybrid option we’d be looking at the 250 Prado LC.

Has anybody else noticed how low the TSS radar sensor is up front? Might make aftermarket bumpers a challenge to run.

Shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

They did it so those who don't buy the Pro/TH can feel like they bought it when they swap the grille out and not have to worry about TSS being affected anymore. :p

As we patiently wait for new impressions of Gen4, this is an interesting interview from a few years back with the person in charge of creating Gen4, defending Gen3. He’s put on the spot, and even looks like he had to later re-direct his answer on drums. In other responses, he seemed to shrug items off as “don’t look at me, it’s carried over”.

Sheldon’s reflections on Gen3, which he inherited for the ‘20 refresh, tell you a lot about his mindset for Gen4, which by that time, development was well on its way. Styling & reliability no doubt will be debated throughout Gen4’s lifecycle, but he clearly set out to improve every last detail or potential complaints. You gotta love a serious competitor; can’t wait to see how it plays out.

Now that it is a boxed frame it will rust from the inside out and you wont be able to see or treat the rust.

Had piles of dirt and rocks in the boxed section of my 1st gen frame I rebuilt. Just a couple drain holes in the bottom would have helped. The frames have all kinds of holes and cutouts on the sides but no way for stuff to drain out the bottom.

And my tundra frame has dirt just setting in the c channel on the bottom shelf, with no where to go.

the hybrid battery will have been long dead and truck will have been salvaged by the time that frame rots enough to be a real issue.

New vehicles are disposable to save the planet. Haha

Pretreatment is about all you can do. Sounds like we need a discussion on c-channel vs. boxed frames… :p ;)

Did I hear the engineer say that the 3.5L is significantly more efficient that the 4.0L? [paraphrasing]

Having owned a third gen on 33s and now a T4R on 33s, my T4R is out performing the Tacoma in fuel efficiency.
