Similar continued upgrades to go with the Tail Lights: Front Grille and Alpharex Headlights. Won't be for everyone, but I'll keep tabs and keep it real on how they hold up.


Next up are wheels, tires and dropping the side steps so I can clean and bed liner them.

Changed out all of my interior bulbs to Diode Dynamics as well as the reverse lights and license plate lights.

 

Ive had Alpharex headlights and tailights for about a year and a half now and havent had any issues knock on wood.

Saturday I got new speakers in the truck, forgot to take pictures of the install. sorry bout that, music sounds alot better and I think thats an upgrade I should have done way sooner.
Today I picked up some SS3 Pro foglights in amber from Diode. Also grabbed some map, dome and license plate lights from them. Hopefully I will be able to see inside the truck after I get them.

 

Messing around with chains for mountain drives this winter. Just in case of emergency.

 

Nice! Did you have the JBL System to start? Wondering about upgrading, but don't feel like replacing the amp or sub.

 

no I dont think so I had a base truck so I didnt have anything fancy. probably next summer I will get a sub and an amp but it still is an upgrade over what I had

 

Got one of those electronic rear view mirrors on a Black Friday deal. I’ve been wanting to try one ever since I got the Leer shell in the back and can’t see crap anymore. Ended up trying out the Wolfbox 930. Took out the factory backup camera and slapped the Wolfbox in its place.
The rear view is awesome but there’s a lot to be desired. The sun visor can’t be opened fully because the front camera is now in the way. The camera has a hard time between the dynamic brights and shadows and if the sun in on the backseat, all I see is the seats reflection and not the image. Additionally I have this weird issue where when I turn the truck on, the mirror doesn’t power up. But if I unplug it from the mirror and plug it back in, it seems to work fine. Still waiting on customer service to get back to me.

really not sure I recommend this product overall. It’s nice to see out the back, but there’s a lot of nuances that really don’t make it worth it.

New pads/rotors.






I’m on my 3rd set of these.

Gettin about 70k miles out of the rotors until they start to get really scored on the back side.



Seems like once they hit about 60k, this starts to happen.


The pads still had about 20% life left in em. I replaced calipers the last time I did break because I just assumed the calipers were sticky, but that isn’t the case.

not a huge deal because they’re cheap enough to replace every couple years. Just curious to why both sets have done the exact same thing.

 

What pads/rotors do you go with?

 

what size tires and where did you get the chains? Been looking for a set to keep for emergencies but having difficulty finding some for 33x10.5s

 

added good sound in my SR5 AC cab a while back. Transformed the truck. Now I wish I'd added deadening at the same time. May get it in at some point. The Crutchfield sound ordinance underseat sub has worked great for me. Cheap. I'm hard on stereo's and it puts out great sound and hasn't faltered despite extensive abuse. Could have gone full blown sub box etc, but didn't want to lose the space. took a chance and threw one under the drivers seat and shocked to find I'm completely happy with it.

Also, consider a DSP/amp rather than an amp. Much more power and sound modeling control. Smaller too. I put that under the passenger seat.Could even leave the stock unit and VASTLY improve the sound with those two pieces added.
