Here is my driver's side delete for a Dr. Prepare and Setpower AJ40 fridge. I'm pretty happy with it for a first attempt. 20231022_151120.jpg 20231022_151137.jpg

Hi everyone. I just got a new access cab after my last one was totaled. I had built a storage unit for behind the seats and had removed the rear seats and replaced the back panel with a molle panel but I didn’t have time to remove it when it was totaled. Now I finally got a new truck but I need to get rid of the back seats.

So if anyone wants to trade the utility panel and storage bins for the seats, bins, panel and seat belts I’d be willing to do an even trade.

I’m in the Denver area and would prefer to do a local trade as it is a lot to ship. I am willing to travel within reason

    Thanks
    Jason

Just keep in mind, bedliner is going to take weeks to off gas fully. So maybe don't drive with it in the truck and the windows up. :D

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Try Monsta-liner. Easy application and it off gassed pretty quickly.

Here is my rear seat delete project I have been wanting to do for a while.
I wanted something that was secured to the truck in a way that I knew that it would be hard for it to come undone in an accident or side collision.
I also wanted something that floated in a way instead of needing walls to help support it so that I could easily access the sides of the floors instead of needing larger access doors on top.
Finally I wanted something that when I add in the tie downs for a cooler or storage boxes that they would be secured to the frame for added rigidity and strength.

It is still a work in progress, but should have the floor built out today besides the cosmetic stuff like the carpet and future addons like the tie down points, under seat storage access, some lighting, and more.

Insulation will be added in the open areas between the deck/wall and the truck floor/wall for sound absortion as well.

Will be working on the wall section today hopefully as well.

Built out of 1.5" square tubing and some leftover brackets I had for another project.

It is secured to the trucks floor using the seat bolts at the rear sides and the middle seat bolt. I am able to stand on the corners where it floats without it flexing as well as shake the entire truck with it.

Decking will be MDF and will be secured to the frame using Rivnuts.

Wall will be built in a similar manner and secured at 6 attachment points.

After looking and wanting that goose gear setup I opted to design my own based on some of the awesome here. Cost was only about $220 vs buying the rear sear delete setups on the market.
Mounted scrap 2×6 to factory bolt holes and screw the deck to those.
Kept the plastic tool box liner and just cut a small hole to attach the nut on the bolt coming thru. Used magnets to keep the lids in place. Finally used herculiner roll on bed liner. Super sturdy and happy with the result

We made more progress on the setup yesterday.

Decking holes lined up perfectly to the rivnuts in the floor frame so that was a win. Went ahead and drew out where the under seat storage is so I can design how I want to access that storage area but am still working on that.

    PXL_20231121_013914891.jpg

Between the floor deck and the trucks floor the sound absortion material I am using are old cotton towels I found at goodwill. Same thing will be used for the back wall spacing.

    PXL_20231121_013015510.jpg

The back wall frame is built and we went a little overboard on it... same 1.5" square tube that is attached to the plastic cubby bolt holes, then ran vertical supports up to the seat latch bolt holes. On the passenger side we added in a matching rivnut in the wall to match the driver side. Vertical supports go the DJ fabrication treatment and work perfectly. Once those got made we tacked it together and then welded it up, primed it, and put it back in.

    PXL_20231120_234438506.jpg
    PXL_20231120_234455634.jpg
    PXL_20231121_015459270.jpg

Next up will be getting the back wall cut, adding rivnuts to the wall frame and test fit of the back wall.
Then doing the under seat storage access, adding carpet, lighting, and a few other touches.

Added in a center support yesterday. It is not tied in with the truck, but is just there to help support the wall once it is up.
    680f1ebf-d420-4247-849b-ebfe24e5955e.jpg

A ton of measurements later, a couple pieces of cardboard, and a lot of cutting, more cutting, and more cutting...
The back wall finally fit to some degree. I have some more revisions to do to the sides as I have some plans for outside wings of the back wall to be independent from the rest of the wall. Since I will be having power outlets on the sides that I'd like to be able to access or work on if needed without taking the entire wall down.

    PXL_20231122_013232849.jpg

Quickly did some cutouts for the rear window so that the gap between it and the wall would be somewhat filled. Will need to glue and put that together still. Got to a stopping point, so will hopefully be back at it today maybe.
