    Good morning;

    I own a 2020 TRD Sport that I am considering installing a winch on. In general, does the extra weight of the winch and mounting hardware necessitate modifying the front suspension to account for the extra weight?

    Thanks for your input.

    I added an SSO Slimline and a Warn 10S, didn’t change any suspension parts and can’t tell it’s there while driving.

    That said, I didn’t measure before and after sag, or get a delta in the weight change so there may be a difference.

    if you're gonna keep it on full time, it might be a good idea to at least get some heavier springs.

    If you go the front hitch route, you could get a cradle that you would only put on when winching is needed.

    Ultimately, you don't HAVE to but for your driving experience and depending what your usage is, it may be a good idea to do so.

    Yes.

    The average winch is going to weigh 90 pounds. The average winch bumper will weigh anywhere between 70-150 pounds. You are adding 200 pounds of static weight, and its all sitting outside of the frame box. It will make the front end sag a little more.

    Thanks for all of the input so far. 200 pounds was my estimate of added weight. I can install everything and then modify the suspension later if needed. I'm pretty handy with nails and trowel, not so much with a wrench. Can anyone recommend an installer in Southeast Pennsylvania?
