I'm guessing the TH will be more expensive, even if they don't come with the video game seats.

Drove my old truck for 20 years, because I am cheap. My wife convinced me to buy a new truck since she was tired of hearing me bitch about fixing it, “quit being cheap! You can afford a new truck!” I know I know…hate spending money though.

Can do both electrical and sweat copper pipes. No bragging, my dad used to literally drag me out of bed by my ankle to go work on bullshit, forced labor if you will. Know how to do a lot of stuff, but not because I wanted to, more out of necessity and being poor at the time.

Love the styling of VWs so much better than the shit Toyota keeps on shoving down our throats. Won’t touch a new VW though, have friend who has a nearly new ‘22 that is bricked. Dealer is clueless how to fix it.

Rivian is probably my favorite vehicle right now, but what do you do when they go bankrupt? And they will.

I am thinking the Trail Hunter will be the top of the line. I am more of a SR guy (see “cheap sob” above) , still pissed Sheldon ditched the access cab. That was and still is my favorite cab configuration. May just drive my 3G for the next 20 years like I did the 1G. Though by then it might be illegal for us to drive our own vehicles…

Gotcha. They list them starting with thePro, TH, limited, off-road on down on the Toyota site. Not sure if that really means anything

I am the same way. I hate paying a note and would rather repair than re-boot on a vehicle loan.

I’m getting older and tired of driving stick on my daily so I have decided on the new Tacoma to hopefully to be the “take me to the end” truck haha

So I really do think the answer to your question is yes. Toyota put a fork in the road when it comes to top of the line and changed the question to "top of the line doing what?" The Pro will be the top of the line performance wise for jumping speed bumps and sand dunes. The TH will be top of the line for camping at Walmart and in the middle of no where, as well as getting there.

I think you’re right. I guess it comes down to the added options/accessories. I can see some outfitting a TH with all those ARB goodies and pushing the price up to beyond 80k possibly higher depending…

Pro guys seem to be happy with them as is from the dealer then add bumpers, winch etc…

435K on the old truck, got to the point I spent more time fixing it than driving it. Unfortunately we still have the stupid thing, my wife wanted to keep it, so still my problem, funny how that works. At least her work is only 1.5 miles away. So when it breaks (and it will) not a huge issue.

After owning my 3G for two years now, I hate driving the 1G…thing rides like a brick.

I’m sure a fully optioned TH will be more than the Pro. The Fox suspension on the Pro is more expensive than the OME on the TH. And of course the seats. Pro will have a higher base price than TH. Out the door price for most THs will probably be more than most Pros.

They could have put that extra travel into the suspension, and not have those gimmicks, but nooooo….

There's still inverter coolant, battery coolant, and differential fluid, and of course basic stuff like brakes, shocks, 12V lead acid batteries, etc.

The iForce Max has three cooling systems with multiple radiators - engine, turbo intercooler, and inverter. Going to EV will bring it back down to two...

That or gas stations go the way of Blockbuster... The clock starts ticking in 7 years when new combustion engined vehicles are banned in some jurisdictions.

Heard they make most of their money off of snacks, soda and alcohol, yeah? Guessing convenience stores won’t be too happy when people stop swinging by to top the tank off.

Interesting times for vehicle purchasing right now, probably best to sit back and watch it all pan it out until it stabilizes.

They'll have charging stations at the convenience stores. Nothing will change. The do now

Not if the majority charges at home. Personally I don’t care for going the gas station, would love to charge from home. When (if???) Toyota goes solid state BEV with a 500-600 mile range, would never have to go to a station for 99.9% of the driving that I do. Even now, could get by with an EV for my 40 mile round trip commute.

Could see them surviving as a corner market, as most are doing that now. Have the basics plus a food counter.

My personal goal is 250 mi towing since that is about round trip for me to my cabin and back. I tow my SxS, so 225-250 would get me where I need to be to switch.

Unladen, that probably is about the same as your range. So, yeah, me too I guess lol.

Once I see an affordable BEV that can do that, I'm out.

Well the thought was they will lose business from fewer ICE customers but if they charge EVs my point is the convenience store will survive.

My thinking is my next vehicle will be ICE, but it probably will be my last ICE vehicle as well.

I'm in no rush. I will wait for the technology to be as sorted as possible before I make the jump.
