All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Time to make a mapped out route! Leaving Pisgah Forest…which way do I head first?! Gonna have to figure out where everyone is :)

Probably a lot of the same footage and thoughts. Traction e-rag works with Barry and the cross training enduro folks quite a bit. I'd 100% take whatever either channel says at face value and trust there isn't any extra fluff or sponsorship shine there.

I'm planning to take the month of April off and head to the N GA mountains. I really want to do the Big Frog Loop on the bike and camp out of Jack Rivers campground. Not sure how far that is from ya. Trying to get @Hafaday to come hang for a weekend at least. Got another buddy that grew up riding, just need to get him to grab another one. @johntoyota

When I was searching for that vid, wasn't sure if it was the same guys. I don't know if I've seen the one you posted or not. I watched one from a guy in AZ(maybe) that was having problems with the fuel gauge or something. It ended up being the charcoal cannister shit. Kove told him to just take it all off and it fixed the problem

S10 seller is out of town till Saturday so I wouldn't be able to go till the weekend after. This will give me enough time to decide what I want to do and if I really want to part with $8k right now.

I am down for that. I have done it a few times on my 500 and 1190r. It’s an easy ride, can be tricky in a few spots if it’s wet. Just hammer down in those sections.

The ADV boots are where it’s at. My motorcross boots are serious protection, and I wear them all the time as I tend to get a little wild when things get nasty. I once pulled myself off the back of my 1190r by accidentally getting my ankle and calf under the rear…needless to say it yanked me off the back. Glad I had my Sidi boots on, as there is no telling how bad that would have hurt without them.

That being said there is barely if any toe movement. It can make getting under the shifter a challenge in certain situations, but after all the years I got used to it.

The softer adv boots allow you to feel the brake and shifter much better. But the lateral support is less. I won’t wear boots I can bend sideways. That’s a good rule of thumb for buying boots that are gonna take beating.

I haven't worn boots in many years. Back 25yrs ago, I had them b/c I wanted to look the part. I wore boots once I got into sportbikes........but got away from them once I settled down from old age  I like the Forma Evo Dry ADV boots

    s-l1600 (5).jpg

And might even grab the MSR MX boots just cause they're cheap

With boots ya get what ya pay for. The cheaper ones have cheap buckles…and break at the worst times. For me Boots are just as important as my helmet, when it comes to quality.
Those Forma boots will do the trick, the MSR is gonna be stiff brutha, and most likely won’t give you the contact you want to feel in the pegs.
I have owned both in the past.

    What size are you?

i love my formas i have! once they finally broke in they were great and a lot easier to shit with! now i always wear them when riding. a buddy of mine has had his formas for 4 something years and are still good

for a true trail boot look at the fly racing ones. they fit pretty good and the neat thing is if the buckles break you can take the buckles off with an allen key and replace them! plus the price is pretty good on em.

I will also add, check out the Alpine Star Tech7. You can find them for around $240. It’s a great boot for the money. More MX than adv, but with that comes more protection.

They sell the previous year models at a considerably discount.
I would search Tech 7 Closeout or Sale. You can easily find them 40-50% off.

Man anytime you need something post up here. I guarantee out of all of us we can help find the best deals. I can’t even remember how many sets of boots I have bought over the years. But because they are pricey, I am always privy to the deals
