It all depends on how hard you off-road it. If you’re not bumping the skid into rocks then you should be good. Don’t want to leave it behind on a trail somewhere.

I’ve only lost the signal when down in canyons in Big Sur. Once I get back up to an area of higher altitude and minus trees it comes back.

 

Cleaned up the engine bay.

I have been needing to do this for awhile. Mainly so I can coat the windshield plastic once removed w/ g technique (it’s starting to fade a bit).

Its definitely an antenna issue.

 

Bed the motor and it will last you an eternity, it tells you what to do in the owners manual.

I don't remember exactly. I think I used only a ratcheting boxend 10mm and a pair of long needle nose pliers (to pinch the plastic wire-gromet).
Went with the boxend because I didn't want to risk a socket popping off the ratchet and disappearing. But a socket would work just as well.

 

I have that bumper on my truck. Installation is pretty straightforward and I did it by myself. You will need to figure out license plate lights as it does not come cut out for them. Here's what I used.

Damn. And an F150 to boot? Ugh. That might sting a little more even.

 

I looked at the replacement bumpers like that but if you're not gaining any real advantage (higher clearance) it didn't seem like it was worth the extra money.
