Hi all I’ve been having issues with my cruise control radar at night, it works during the day, but it seems to work intermittently at night. Looking at the black box behind the mirror from the front view there appears to be something blocking the camera. Is there a way to open this black box up and try to move whatever it is?

Hard to tell from the photo .. but taking it apart is not an option u will need to recalibrate it if u do that .

was this truck in an accident? you might have to take that route, IF the window needs pulled (which it's broken anyways) and/or the camera needs replaced or repaired and calibrated.
It looks like something might have broke, or become dislodged and slid forward.

Glass was replaced about 2 years ago but it’s had the issue the whole time. So I’m gathering the only way to get the issue fixed is to get the glass replaced and then it has to be recalibrated correct? There’s no opening of this black box and then getting it recalibrated?

That’s not the radar sensor. That’s the camera for LDA and possibly for the auto high beams as well.
I have a Passport 9500xi detector and no issues with cruise control.

I noticed the star in the windshield, has it been there all along or just recently?

My rep who sold us the ADAS calibration machine said there are instances where the bracket on an aftermarket windshield isn’t positioned properly and it will make calibration of the camera impossible.
I have not run across it but it’s possible I guess.

The radar for the adaptive cruise control is located in the grille. What you are looking at may impact the LDA and the auto high beam.

The star on the windshield happened a while ago. Now all I’m wondering if there is a way to take the black box off to try to move what is in front of the camera?

Light sensor for the high beams is on the passenger side dash.

Radar is in the TSS in the grille. Black box contains a camera for lane departure assist. I don't think the LDA is involved in radar cruise control.

Radar cruise control uses both the radar and camera sensors. If either is obscured, the feature will not work.
It is hinted at in the manual, but is easy enough to test:

I only tested it because I was arguing about it with a user here who wouldn’t believe the hints in the manual

I’m having a very hard time understanding what you are trying to show in your pictures.

The photos show how he removed the camera enclosure to allow access to the wire or what was crossing in front of the camera lens.
    Good job.
