When I had 285’s the Peerless Auto-track chains were great. I believe they would fit your tire size. I forget the exact model
I have, but their site filtered the variations for you.

i need some chains for 35’s now !

My next mode is swapping out my interior lights. I was going goo goo gaga for Meso products when I first got my Tacoma and every time I checked they were sold out. Must've been a sign cause they're overpriced and not the best.

Im digging these RovrLab dome lights. Theyre working on a third brake light set up.
    https://rovrlab.com/products/rovr-dome-2nd-gen-tacoma-diode-dynamics-dome-light-conversion

and have thought about adding footwell lights from VLeds. To give it that modern feel.

How does the video feed in the tailgate work? Do you have to put it in reverse or it just put out the video at all times?

Tires are 37x12.5r17. The chains are DiamondBack LT, made by QualityChaincorp. I bought them off Harriscos (industrial supplier in Oregon).

It was between these or some aggressive ladder style chains with cams. I decided on these for highway use and ease of install. And they were slightly cheaper. Some people seem to have a hard time getting diamond pattern chains tight. I bought some additional rubber tensioners to help with that.

I had some similar problems with the power up issue with an AUTOVOX T9 I bought. Sometimes it wouldn’t cut on and all I could fathom is it had something to do with extremes of temps so either it was too cold or too hot out. Then if I turned the vehicle off and back on it would power on. Either something in the software or an issue with a relay tripping in the unit, idk.

What I did like about the T9 was that it didn’t have a front cam on it, and it mounted like the stock mirror so I was able to cover up the wiring under the OEM windshield wire cover.

They definitely take some getting used to though and don’t compare to the OEM live video mirrors.

When the vehicle is on, it has a standard rear view that is always on. When put in reverse (based on a signal from the reverse light), the view shifts to a lower and wider view with backup lines. Admittedly, I haven't hooked up the reverse yet because I ran out of time yesterday.

My neighbor has a fancy Cadillac Escalade with the OEM video mirror and that's what sold me on this. In practicality, it has a lot of short comings. I'll give it a few weeks to see if I get used to it and if the power issues gets resolved. So far really just underwhelmed.

Ill have to do some more searching to see if I can find something. Having a non standard tire size is biting me in this one area so far.

Just a bunch of old crap
So technicallllllyyyy... there is spacing between my bumper lights and the radiator grill, and air flows around just fine and doesn't actually get obstructed. Not the same in something actually mounted on the grill that truly blocks airflow.

It may flow around those lights but probably at reduced air pressure against the radiator since some of the air mass will be deflected over the hood. You have a bow wave instead of an open grill. The thermostat could tell which is worse.

New wheels, tires, TPMS, and headlights! She's still looking good for a 12 year old truck. I would get in it and drive it anywhere.

Changed the spark plugs. 129,800 on the truck. The only previous record for them was a change in 2015 @15,000 miles, so as far as I know, these have +/- 115,000 on them. They look like that might indeed be the case. (no NGK in the mix either) I'm always a little nervous when I remove plugs: never know what they might reveal. Appear well worn of course, but clean electrodes and the nice clean/shiny appearance above the gaskets. The idle is much better and seems like it starts better. I paid $6 each for them at the dealer. PCV and hose are next. I don't notice any difference on the power. I had some pinging under load when the hot weather was still here, so I'm hoping that will be gone now with the new plugs and the winter-blend gas.

Anywho: Here's what spark plugs with 115,000 miles on them look like. :proposetoast:

Be a neat wind flow experiment, if someone hasn’t already done one.

I think the Tacoma grill would be fine with lights in the grille if you cut out the center plastic section and used lights with comparable height. I think a 2011 Honeycomb grill would be perfect for it.

I totalled it. Actually, I totalled it November 3rd. Hit a ~275lb hog after work just after dark. Dang thing looked like a bear coming out of the ditch. Luckily, I was only going about 35 to 40 mph and had a little time to break before plowing into it. Just got a replacement saturday. It's a 2020 TRD Off Road. I do hate a payment, but this 3rd gen is NICE!

Installed all auto window switches on my 2015. I don’t know why I waited so long to get them.
