I guess forest fires used to be more common in NH. I remember my dad telling the story of when he was about 15, so it would have been around 1951.
There was a large fire somewhere in northern NH, and the word was put out that they needed volunteers to help fight it. A bus came through picking up the volunteers and Dad spent a couple days with a grub hoe and backpack water pump cutting fire lines and dousing sparks.

Funny you say that about diet, my neighbor who used to milk says the same thing about milk. If the ol girl had a taste for onions that day your milk might have a onion flavor.:rofl:

Good morning and Happy Day Before Thanksgiving :hattip:

Woke to a sloppy rainy snowy mix. Probably some ice mixed in. I’m not in a hurry to do anything about it.

I miss the days of a good ole snow storm..

That’s a hard one. I typically ask “how is everyone?” Which usually evokes same. It does however include new relationships and kids and I usually pop questions off into that side to brighten things, mention the time since last met and SOMETIMES offer a future meetup to catch up on things.

Drug testing comes from a DOTD rule. It’s the company’s discretion how far that rule applies. Pipelines are under DOTD, so this is how other professions get included as well. Maritime, Drivers… well, yep.

Not saying you can't make it work, but poultry has better results at higher temps vs the ribs.

I was hoping to get the ribs done, then turn up the heat. It's a 18# Turkey so hopefully I can get away with it. Got it on high smoke right now, about 225. Then I'll turn it up to 275 or 300 once the ribs come off. I am of course open to input haha

I lived with my grandparents on a farm from 6-14yo. I would plink squirrels with my .22 and Grandma used it as "supplemental" meat, like in gravies and stews. We would have a meal of Rabbit stew with fried potatoes and biscuits, but never a meal of Squirrel meat alone in any form, fried, baked or boiled.
And Grandma was not interested in the snakes foe meat I killed. She told me one time that if it wasn't warm blood then it wasn't meant to eat, unless it swam in a lake.
