I already told @shakerhood about this in a text message; I was returning home from doing Uber Eats with @Stitchgirl90 and I finally got pulled over for Christmas lights in my truck!

I honestly knew it was bound to happen sometime, but I have been doing this on and off since 2011; I really started going crazy with the Christmas lights in 2018 and it became a tradition during the pandemic. In 2021, a New Hope cop complimented me on the lights.

My first Christmas light-related traffic stop occurred in Souderton, which is in the upper part of Bucks County near Quakertown; I DID NOT GET A TICKET! The cop was thoroughly impressed with my lights and said from the beginning that I would not get a ticket as long as my license came back clean. He was the coolest cop in the world, and I ended up getting out of the truck to show him how I had everything rigged up.

My primary stomping grounds since 2019 have been Doylestown, Peddler's Village, and New Hope; I will only be running all the lights when I'm in this specific area to avoid any unwanted attention in the future. It still pisses me off that PennDOT has any say in what I do to MY truck, but whatever...

My cousin is a school psychologist and says that claiming religious exemption can get you of standardized testing in public schools; I wish I'd known this.

My girlfriend is presently training to become a phlebotomist and chooses not to get the COVID vaccine. She plans on playing the religion card if any future employers try to force her to get it.

I don’t know enough about religion to discuss it.
Let alone use it as an excuse.
The majority of people I’ve met don’t seem to know much about their “chosen” religion.

I still think religion is a excellent excuse to get out of one the worst parts of grade school; I am a Navy brat, and I have lived in four different states as a result of my dad's military career; I had to take standardized tests in all four states, and sometimes I struggled because the curriculum was different from state to state. I hate state/standardized tests with a fucking passion!

I told you what happened when my girlfriend tried to get a job at a nursing home in Warrington...?

Before even granting her an interview, the first thing they asked her over the phone was if she had the COVID vaccine. She told the guy she did not and he basically hung up on her...

    You got a point there.

And you really got a point there.

I'm a recovering Catholic. Got the strict upbringing..13 years of Catholic school, 8 years as an altar boy (no jokes please), etc etc.

A mutual friend of mine has long said "if you want to know why I left the Catholic Church, read the Bible. I mean, REALLY read it"

    I started reading it.
I lost interest. The fact that I didn’t understand “some” of it, and I couldn’t keep up with all the names didn’t help either.

If you posted I might have missed it...that really sucks. I thought we were over that petty BS now anyhow, but still seems a certain class of folks use that as an excuse to deny employment which is a shame.

It's a fairly well-known story here on TW. Back in June 2020, I almost clobbered another customer at the Mission BBQ in Warminster for getting in my face and confronting me about not wearing my mask properly; I'm sick of all this shit...

I definitely don't regret the schooling, I met some great people who are still in my life that I would not have otherwise.

I could probably think of a lot of examples but in general just the creation myth, and if you buy that we are all family at some point. The teaching that divorce is grounds for excommunication I don't dig either..I get the basic idea marriage is sacred but I think there are times it's better to divorce versus be in a dangerous situation.

    @ColoradoTJ

And then the funny thing is that I was literally doing nothing else wrong; I was doing like 28 in a 25 MPH zone and I wasn't swerving. Literally the only thing I did wrong was having the Christmas lights on my truck!

So, I'm driving through Souderton, and all of a sudden I see a cop way off in the distance hauling ass with his lights on. He was fast approaching me, but he was wayyy back there; I have no idea where he came from. He then disappeared and I assumed he was on a call or something; I stopped at a red light and there was another vehicle behind me but no cop car. The light turned green, I turned left, the car behind me went straight, and there was the cop again. His lights were off, but as soon as he was back behind me they came back on. Literally right when the cop put on bus lights, some people at a bar across the street saw my truck and were yelling "Merry Christmas!" I pulled over and I knew exactly why I was being stopped because, like I said, I was not speeding. In Pennsylvania, you have to be going at least 6 MPH over the speed limit to get points on your license; 5 MPH over is what the overwhelming majority of speeding tickets that are taken to court get reduced to, as 5 MPH doesn't result in points on your license. I set the cruise control for 5 MPH above the speed limit because I know I won't get pulled over... :D

Yeah, Like I said, I don’t know enough to discuss it.
I personally don’t care what you believe.
If you want to worship a purple pig, go for it.
If it helps get you through life as a better person, believe it.
I’ll still be your friend. It doesn’t bother me.
