What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yep, they fit easy. They’re wired for power, which I don’t have hooked up, but can eventually if I want.

 

Which kind / method of rivnuts are you using - I’ve seen some that just have a threaded tool you can use with any socket / ratchet

 

Can I get some follows as I begin this build!

My brother and I went up the Mount Lemmon control road today, had zero issues with either truck. Decided we both like automatics better than manual for this, just way easier to control. Tires made a huge difference, my worn out and super hard Coopers were not happy.

 

Need to make it up myself with the family before they close it for the winter, curious when the first snow is gonna fall

 

Closes in December sometime. Honestly the first 3/4 we did in 2WD, it was only the last 6 miles or so we did in 4Hi. Never really needed 4Lo or the Elocker. Super nice day to do it. Looking at Reddington next.

 

I bought the Astro Pneumatic 1443B tool, and a multi pack of stainless rivet nuts on eBay. Then I had to buy a metric carbide drill bit set, since some of the holes needed feel between sizes in my SAE drill bit set.

 

Did a remote tune with the 1320 supercharger 60mm pulley yesterday
Some nice results at 6000 feet, sea level will be more
304HP-326TQ

 

That's a really smooth curve, should be super driveable.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict I've sufficiently delt with the frame flex in the rear.



At least for my purposes.

Old one maxed out, ported and 1.9 pulley was at 278hp and 305TQ with haltech

 

Nice. Decent bump but not huge. Is this a stock pulley and what boost numbers?

 

New supercharger is designed to be the same power output because of emissions with 4 pounds of boost instead of 7 pounds.
It makes a little more but is much more efficient and much less heat.
Essentially it's 200 more than the 20 year old design

Most the older superchargers are at 250hp

IIRC this new SC comes with a 75mm pulley. From what I recall, he next tried a 65mm pulley. And is now onto a 60mm . I could be wrong but I suspect these numbers pretty much represent maxing out this SC. The snout had to be redesigned to be able to accommodate the 60mm pulley.
