After 2 years and 40k miles I traded in the taco. I put lots of work into it and had a great time exploring and taking it out on some challenging trails here in Arizona. I had it absolutely setup perfect for me and it will be missed. I couldn't have done it without this forum and you all are a good bunch. If I ever get another down the road I'll be back!

Best wishes. Remember that you’re always welcome to buy a Gen4 in a couple years, and come back to tell us how superior the new discs are over our drums. Or flatter torque curve, your choice.

Meantime, enjoy driving your brand new…..By the way, what are you calling it?

Sorry for the delay, didn't realize yall would be so interested in the replacement! 2015 2500hd LTZ. Low miles, 1 owner, absolutely cherry. I got it last Saturday and have already bought a couple hundred in parts.... it has begun. e388e297cd5b84a76655c4600a762a77x.jpg

    “Raises hand”

The Ram 1500 traitor around here would be me. I absolutely love the 5th gen (4th gens are still high on my list too) and would buy one in a moment but it’s a tight fit in my garage at my townhouse. The Toyota is just fine for what I need and I have a long history with these little trucks. They’re like an old friend that never lets you down……quirks and all I love them except for the piss-poor fuel economy.

I think my tacoma was the perfect jack of all trades. But I started a new gig at a bigger company and i couldnt taxi my lady around anymore with my demanding schedule. I got a nice used 2011 camaro in September for her to get to work and for short trips, date nights, weekend canyon runs, etc. And the boats I've been eyeing are just too much for the taco to pull out of the water. So diesel it was. Now to find the boat so I can waste some real money!

My sympathies are on the way for you……..boating can be a huge money pit! However, I’ve never seen a brinks truck following a funeral percession so enjoy yourself responsibly every day because tomorrow isn’t promised my friend.
Also some advice on the diesel: Be diligent with fuel filter maintenance and run it hard whenever you get a chance as to keep the DPF happy. I’m a Cummins tech and I will attest that the ones that work hard have fewer problems with after treatment systems.
