I like it, just don't know if I need a piston AR when AK/ Fal does the same job as far as pistons go.

You can't get the same accuracy out of an AK, I don't care what anyone says and you can't shoot 5.56 out of a FAL.;)

I hear they can be had ~$1400...

So I have been reading more about that Adcor Defense Gas Piston Rifle and noticed that it has an "Exclusive Ejection Port Dust Wiper With Cover" now this seems to me like they are solving a problem that never existed. I guess there could be a way for the BCG to get dirtier but I thought the whole point of a piston gun was for it to run cleaner in the first place. People say DI is dirtier, but somehow still manages to run like a tank with something as primitive as a spring loaded dust cover. It doesn't make all that much sense to me. This was from the site:

"• After a typical AR carbine fires, the weapon is susceptible to contaminants because the ejection port door remains open until it is manually closed. Dust, sand and debris can enter the receiver and work their way between the receiver and bolt, potentially jamming the carbine. These contaminants also create wear and maintenance issues.

This is what I am talking about, seems to me like Stoner's design was done right in the first place. I Just don't know about this since it is new technology, but this design adds more moving parts which scares me on a battle rifle(see below).

    • Adcor’s design solves this problem with a spring-loaded dust cover mounted on the carbine’s bolt carrier. Each time the weapon fires and the bolt carrier returns to the ready position, the dust cover moves into the ejection port opening, flush with the outside geometry of the carbine. No dust, sand or debris can enter the weapon."

Now it seems also that they have eliminated the standard charging handle for a side charger like an AK or Fal. Its pretty nice to have the ergonomics of the AR with a piston system, but why do it with a side charger on the AR platform? Imho why not design a whole new system instead of changing it all around.

    It is.;)
The dust cover is like one spring; not really a lot of extra moving parts there.
I believe it has a traditional CH along with a side CH as well.
