How about the fulcrum point on the frame? That's where mine is bent.

Went out and did some exploring before the snow flies, which is odd for this time of the year. Usually there’s a good blanket of snow already. Might be the last trip in the ol gal… I ended up snagging an 05 4Runner that a buddies wife slid off the road in. Completely rust free from Arizona. Just needs bumper lights and a fender… I thinks it’ll make for a more family friendly adventure rig.

No it's in the boxed section just in front of the spring hanger.

    The front spring hangers?

My front spring hangers aren't in the factory spot anymore. They are forward. The spring hangers themselves are now 1/4 inch thick, and plated with 1/4 inch plate for reinforcement.

    Screenshot_20231124_113235_Chrome.jpg

And the assembly is tied in to the rear leg of my slider.

The elbows, to re-route the reserviors, were delivered today. So, I was able to get the mounts fabricated. They came out like I was hoping they would

Yes the front hangers. Basically right where the front of the gas tank is. In hard breakover instances that is what contacts. Your hanger may help but there is a ton of leverage acting against that point.

Isn't that area by the front of the gas tank already boxed? Not that I'm getting myself into hard breakover situations, but is the only way to reinforce it to just add a thicker box (or at least, side plates? Or, am I misunderstanding the location?

    I think you'll be suprised.

But, I'm actually not unhappy with the way it's working out. Depending on how everything starts fitting together, I'm looking at adding a link bar from one hoop to the other.

That's too much for a leaf spring set up. But hey, if you think you need it, send it.

You don't think it would help if I take a hard hit? Although the shocks shouldn't bottom out, I'm thinking it's a lot of force being applied to those hoops if shit starts getting western.

IMO, no. Your leaf pack will absorb majority of the force. Now if you're on coilovers where the towers holds the weight, than yes.

But tube towers are more prone to bending vs solid towers due to the lack of support (welds) and metal due to length.

I need to get off my lazy ass and link my front and rear tower. But I believe it's efficient enough with the extra bracing at the base and tube support toward the top of the tower. It's easy to do. Took it through some gnarly shit without issue.

    They're Artec.

IIRC, Archive are for outboard with smooth body shock.

It is already boxed and adding plates to the sides would definitely help. These frames are pretty thin.

    Is the passenger tower taller?
