Has anyone upgraded to Android 11? Worth it or is it buggy? Also, what's this Vivid I keep reading about? Same thing?

Call me complacent , but I'm not even considering it.
Every thing is as I want it to be at present, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Is android 11 an update or does that require a new head unit? My head unit keeps pestering me about an update and I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’ve been wanting to do it since I have some bugs.

A quick Google doesn't indicate that they can be.
Either way, I have too many things the way I want them to step up and spin the wheel..

Would love to stop thinking about this thing. But my latest issue is when it just decides not to connect to Bluetooth. Sure, a reboot fixes it, but that's a PITA and shouldn't be necessary. At least put a power button somewhere accessible, not buried in factory settings behind a secret code.

    Damn, that would suck.
A year and a half or better now and I've yet to do a reboot that I can remember.
Had to get into the factory settings the other day for something and it had been so long I'd forgotten the 126.

That said, my first unit was for intents and purposes, dead on arrival, making me glad I'd spent the extra coin and ordered from Amazon.
Second times a charm, so far..

What cell service do you use? I am on a grandfathered plan with TMobile, way too cheap to give up just for wifi in the truck but I am very close to declaring it hot garbage for streaming over hotspot. I have spent about a week with a wireguard vpn back to my home router which has 1Gbps fiber. Worked great at first, and I thought I had solved my problems, but the last few days has been unusable. If I can't address it, the Dasaita will either just become a big android auto screen or hit craigslist.

Has anyone had an issue where left and right controls for skipping and rewinding music just stopped working? Mine began intermittently working. I checked the connections on the radio and made sure everything was seated correctly and it has worked fine since I did that but that has only been 24 hours. Not sure what else it could be. Every other control on the steering wheel still works, up and down and volume up and down.

So a lot of my apps are crashing, or simply failing to open with varying error messages.
I've tried clearing caches, uninstalling updates, etc, etc.
I'm about to update the head unit with the latest firmware from Dasaita.

On to the question at hand...
What settings, data, steering wheel keys, etc., can I expect to lose in the update process?

    Thanks in advance

Sorry I can't help put with your issues, but because of the canbus system, I did not lose any steering wheel functions. The only thing I cant figure out how to change is why my next and previous track buttons have been reversed. No biggie but just slightly annoying

Sorry if this has been answered in this thread before, but is there a specific wire off the Dasita unit to ground the Germs Lab controller? I remember seeing you mention one in the Pioneer thread. TIA and Happy Thanksgiving!

I would ground it to the dash chassis. I remember using a self tapping screw.

    Awesome, thank you!

Edit, which wire do you suggest to use from the Dasaita unit to power the GERMS unit?

I have a post that shows which harness to remove the connector on the germs harness to tap into the AMP turn on on the radio harness. I will try to find it.
