I’ve had one for about 3 years now. It doesn’t like blazing heat. I wouldn’t try to weed wack 5 acres of knee high grass. I run the thin line use it like a normal person and understand it’s not a 2stroke brush mower. That being said I haven’t had to rebuild the carburetor, broke a pull cord and it’s always started. I’m sure some Makita owners would bitch because they threw it off an 8 story building, took it out into Death Valley in the middle of summer to chop down a cactus and it’s a piece of shit.

 

typically, their lawn tools go for the best prices in the spring, so i wouldn't expect too much until the flower racks start growing in front of the stores.

Made in US 30-gallon, oiled air compressor, 6.2cfm@90psi model

Figured I'd retire my 30 year old Craftsman that's rated higher than its actual output

The Craftsman is electric so it's loud AF too yet has always delivered all the air needed for my CNC; figure a new one would offer the same if not better so I can add refrigerated air later

Yeah, their compressors are good I reckon. I have an old US of A Dewalt Emglo 4 gallon that’s maybe 15 years old, which is still kicking.

Only thing I’ve had to swap out was the pressure switch and the fittings on the manifold. I’m pretty sure I can rebuild the motor when the time comes.

 

Yeah the motors are basic; I saved quite a bit going single stage as a two stage would've provided higher pressure (unnecessary for CNC) with the same 6.2cfm output.

The two stage, 25 gallon version was like $300 more and the cheaper one was only 40cfm.

 

Shoulda got a makita. I heard that they can get launched into outer space, fly through the sun and still work after re-entry into the earth's atmosphere.
