It is possible depending on the size of the gas grill and how the burners are arranged. Never turn a burner on that is under the turkey. Keep the grill temp between 250 to 300 degrees. That is usually obtained by have the one turned on burner on low. Keep rotating the turkey on the grill every 30 minutes. If you desire a smoke flavor, use a smoke tube filled with the pellet flavor profile you would like the turkey to have. Monitor the internal turkey temp the same way you would a turkey in a regular oven. Our turkey was 15 pounds and smoked for 3 hours at around 300 degrees.

Good morning. We did our best to keep the consumer economy afloat yesterday. Finish up the Christmas season decorating today and a quick trip to Harris Teeter for a prescription and a few groceries. I believe we are going out for dinner and music tonight.

Pretty frosty here this morning, it's 30 degrees at 10 am. I'll put my carhart bibs on and head out to the garage in a bit and finish up the snowblower refurbish. Then start emptying one side of the garage to dig out some more lumber for my workbench project I'm working on. New hardwood workbench for the wood shop.

:rain: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Hook 'Em! Got the outside lights up, and each year I like using the extension ladder less and less. It's only the gable of a single story, but......
With that out of the way, I can do crates up and down, and watch the college rivalry games. Won't mind if I miss a minute or two when the wife decides it is time to move. Grey day today and tomorrow too. Monday, start stripping truck stuff off.

totally on me. Paying more attention to football

I promise it's not down here. I don't do anything to encourage more snow!

Yes, thanks Tom - I did not clearly say NO DIRECT FIRE! Which is hard to do in a gas grill.

    Afternoon all:

First day of deer here in Pa., my buddy and his 2 grandkids didn't see a tail :(, I had a doe wide open and broadside @ about 50-60 yds. and didn't shoot ,then saw 4 others that I couldn't get a shot at, getting late in the season to keep letting those gussy shots go if we want any venison.

The lights are up, Holiday joys atmosphere is in the air, are you going to have the lights decorations on your truck too this year?
I have to change the battery of smoke alarm yesterday on a 10' ceiling, I didn't like it when get up there to change it.
Talking about paying attention, I misplaced more tools in this year alone than my entire life.

I have some little "magnetic lights" for the vehicles. I will do the truck after paint, probably. RAV4 for sure, after I get it washed. They don't stick well enough for a car wash, but do just fine at speed.

Just finished putting up my first stage of Xmas lights. ALL SOLAR POWERED! Why you might ask, that's because we live within the energy grid of San Diego Gas & Electric which seems to spend most of it's time
with their corporate lawyers running back to the PUC for another rate increase. Energy rates in California have increased somewhere close to 50% since 2019. Newest angle to increase rates...Sempra Energy (SDG&E)
are using class warfare as a way of continuing to boost our rates. So what do I say to SDG&E? "Bah Humbug" I forgot to add, the PUC members are all appointed by our fine Governor, Gavin Newsom. (Who wants to
    be your next President someday)
Anyway my Solar Powered Xmas Lights will look very nice, Happy Holidays!

I have thought a few times, but I am happy with my conversion to LED C7 bulbs in the old strings. (Custom soldered and wrapped to fit the house!) All my solar yard lights, and the percentage of grey days in our winter, tell me I am as good as I am getting. We may not get "bad" weather, but we can go for a couple weeks of grey very easily!
Good on you for the swap, and I hope they work for you in sunny SoCal!

I'm glad someone saw it. But when I messaged my son, he already knew. So, I told the wife, she already knew.
    This must prove something!

Here's an image of a "C" I found on my computer from I don't remember when; notice the straight cut cooling fins versus the curved fins of the "A" and "B" series of motors.

LOL, got it! Years ago I watched a film which showed how the cam driven saws cut those curved fins all in parallel, it was fascinating. While we're talking about the R-2800, 20+ years ago I was laid up with a badly broken leg and a partially torn off foot, and during my recovery I started writing a story which had been banging around in my head for at least a decade before that. A portion of the story takes place at Pratt & Whitney while the Double Wasp was being developed and to bone up on it, I read everything I could on the subject. The site set up by the Aircraft Engine Historical Society had (probably still has) a 7 part dissertation on how this beast of an engine was tamed to the point where it wouldn't cause the prop shaft to snap off during operations; it was an absolutely wonderful and highly educational read. If you're interested in reading it, send me a PM with your E-Mail address and I'll send you the full PDF.

Look for it! Even the Wiki article I read many times has sub sections I haven't. I read where they could barely contain the beast for testing in engine testing rooms. Honestly, I haven't just got that far down this rabbit hole. But polishing up that 1380 for the Dance gave me some new enthusiasm. All I WAS trying to do was make it presentable. And find any history I could. I'm getting greedier! Thanks so much.

My wife and I celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary today. She is, truly, one tolerant woman and I am so very blessed.
