I got you beat. 5 cops, because I looked like someone that might be stealing things from Walmart.

Desperate times call for desperate measure.
It doesn’t make a difference what the vehicle looks like when you need a vehicle.
You take the one you can get……….Christmas lights or not.

This is my thoughts on the matter as well. Seems to be the best option that allows you to keep your lights mounted.

I meant by the police; I've heard horror stories about police pulling their weapons on the wrong vehicle due to a case of mistaken identity...

The cop in Souderton who pulled me over said that some cops will make you tear off the lights on the spot by the side of the road; I would have turned them off if asked to do so, but I would not tear my lights off in the freezing cold. The lights have to be carefully removed, and I would rather do that carefully and in the daylight.

Such a scenario reminds of the time in October 2010 when I was busted by a security guard for taking random pictures with my Nikon SLR at an outlet mall in East Stroudsburg. The prick tried to make me put my camera back in my parents' car, but I told a partial lie not knowing where my dad parked the van because he has let me out before parking; I also did not have the keys...

Nope; I drove all the way from Warrington to Peddler's Village like I have been doing for years, then I drove to New Hope; I then drove back towards Doylestown and drove through Peddler's Village again on the way there. I then turned off all lights but the ones on the wreath and bullbar.

Also, my friend and former coworker told me a story about getting pulled over in Jersey that makes me feel better about my occasional shortcomings behind the wheel; I got pulled over twice in six days (I believe January 28th and February 3rd of this year) by two different state troopers. My friend got pulled over for speeding twice in roughly eight minutes, in two different counties, and luckily ended up with only a warning both times. My takeaway from all of this is that Jersey cops are real hardasses.

    @Just_A_Guy

I am really done with Jersey. When I first reconnected with Amanda, I was driving up to Washington Township a few times a week. Now that my girlfriend is living in not only the same state as me but the same county, and maybe eight miles from my house, I no longer have to drive up there.

There is this show called ToyotaFest that has been cancelled three times due to rain (May 2022 I think, October 2022, and May 2023), and now it is postponed indefinitely...

It is apparently the first annual ToyotaFest to be held in the Northeast, and the first even hasn't even happened yet. Apparently, New Jersey Motorsports Park is a very popular venue and it takes months to get a reservation once one is cancelled; I would love to go to this thing, but my girlfriend and I drove an hour and a half last May only to be told at the gate that it had been cancelled due to rain.

It had rained the night before but it was beautiful that day, and I don't know what led to them canceling it; I am fed up and likely not ever go to this thing!

But back to this, I really don't feel comfortable driving in Jersey anymore; Raceway Park is almost nonexistent now, Atco closed for good, and I will really have no reason to visit once my relatives move out of Jersey...

About 20 years ago l ran to Wal-Mart after work one night which was probably around 1 or 2am. Pulled out of the parking lot and headed down the highway, a minute or so later 3 Crown Vic's had me completely boxed in. Thankfully after holding that position for about 10 seconds they took off, about 3 miles later down the road they had a guy in a silver Dakota face down on the street with guns drawn!

You make it seem like driving in NJ is equivalent to driving in a third world country.

Are there jackass cops in NJ? Yes. But there are jerks in every state. It’s all about knowing the roads and a little luck, if you want to speed. Or you can slow down and obey the laws. Personally I try to drive sensibly in places I am unfamiliar with (really in general). Respect the locals, typically they respect you.

It also doesn’t help that you have PA plates.

I used to love shopping late like that, could breeze through without so many people being in there, way less stressful.

Yeah. Now when it gets close to closing, all the aisles are blocked by boxes they are getting ready to stock the shelves with
