The question is about 4x4 or 2x4 in snow , nor the comparative prices of the vehicles .

Bottom line , the trucks up here are 4x4 and they don't even sell Prerunners up here because 4x4 makes sense for snow country and 2x4 does not .

Me, i spent a week in Winter park CO, in the morning the roads were slick as shit, the only vehicles i saw on the road were 4x4's. Taking off from a stop light in 2wd was pointless. Yes i was driving with snow tires. If 4x4 is an option it is worth it if you live in a primarily snowy Environment. Its just easier

trust me when it really snows. i can barely get down my street with winter tires and lsd on. 4x4 is the way to go if you get lots of snow.

so you're saying its better to have 4x4 if you live in a place where it snows lots.

Jesus this is turning into a train wreck. If you can't drive a car on the streets on icedover roads in a car you should not have the faintest thought of spinning four tires in the same situation. Use the 4x4 for crawling over ruts or rocks. Hell even fallen trees.

I own a 2wd and bra I admit that all I can do with this thing is just hauling shiz and goin on some light off roading. theres this one good place too go fishin but its in da boonies and to get there, theres this little ass steep hill about 5ft tall and all I do is waste time n gas just spinnin the tires in locked position.so I just get out n walk the damn half mile.my legs is the 4x4.so I admit 4x4 is the real deal.gonna trade mines in for 1.
