That will not help with an evaporative system leak or fault. You should smoke test the system to see if there is a leak. I had my gas cap fail a few months back. It gave me a random evap leak code once or twice a month. If you decide to shotgun the repair, I recommend a factory gas cap.
Based off your sig, the cap would be a good start. My truck is an 06 as well. But like I stated, shotgun repair. LOL!

Yeah for $18 bucks it's probably the cheapest first step. It's what the factory handbook suggests so here's to hoping when I put the fuel pump in I didn't quite seat something or the seal on my 17 year old truck finally got affected by age. Hell of a lot cheaper then a new charcoal canister lol

If your giving more fuel then air, to compensate for that would you add boost or slow the fuel injectors down?

The airflow model is inaccurate in this instance. It ‘believes’ more air is entering the engine than actually is, so the fuel calculations are derived from inaccurate data causing the rich condition. I wouldn’t touch the fuel.

Recent fuel pump replacement? Let's hope it's it's just a fuel cap. If the problem persists look at the lock ring for the fuel pump and the hoses you had to disconnect to drop the tank. If this is happening after the pump replacement, it's a good possibility it's related to that job. Not trying to scare you, just keep you informed. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks buddy, yeah it's definitely related to something with the install, it's got to be extremely minor though since it's a "very small leak" that's popping up once a week before it flags by hitting the right pothole or something lol.

Luckily the fuel pump is working like it should with no links in the line inside the tank, I just need to take the time and double check all the outside lines and stuff. It probably is that cap I didn't remove my bed, and I probably didn't get that lid back on as tight as that shit was on from the factory haha

No worries I have done like 3 or 4 fuel pump assemblies for on reason or another. I took to bed off every time. Cause access cab and my buddy has a auto crane on his work truck.

Once I get the truck back ill hit you up. Trucks have been down most of the rear due to a bent rear axle/housing. It def needs some investigating.

Yeah there is a problem with it. It fouls out your emissions components, wastes your gas and can cause long term build up issues within your actual engine.

Is the 6 piston brake upgrade worth 2k? Or is there a decent enough upgrade from the 4runner swap? I'm switching out my master cylinder and might as well swap in new calipers since I'll be bleeding the brakes anyway?

I have the Stoptech 6-piston and it’s nice, but I’m also not much heavier than stock. (Well, supercharger adds ~90lbs, camper/fridge/bed rug/maxtrax adds probably 400). With 45lb 32” tires and 21lb wheels I think they are overkill and the 4Runner upgrade would probably be a good upgrade.

If you’re super heavy, then I would suggest big diameter and 6-pistons.

Ya 6 piston is rad but for the price the T4R is a no brainer. Get some better pads and some rotors. DBA or Stoptech etc.

I just did the T4R/Lexus brake upgrade, it’s definitely a good bang for buck. The rotors are much larger, thicker, and heavier (better at taking heat) than oem taco stuff.
I used hawk pads and DBA slotted rotors and reman calipers.

    a quick recap:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/sterling_vh111s-supercharged-long-travel-build-thread.447679/page-7#post-29202244

If you’re super heavy or on like heavy 35s or 37s and want exceptional braking the 6 pistons would probably give that extra power and bite.
With this setup too I can always upgrade to RR racings 6 piston calipers/pads in the future and keep the same rotors.

Very nice adds to the T4R. The RR Racing kit is nice.
On my Truck I went through all phases
    1. T4R
    2. RR Racing 6 piston upgrade
    3. Added rear Stoptech disc setup
4 changed front to Stoptech (better fitting piston size for the Tacoma) and 2 piece slotted rotors

All work well and the more power and weight I had to keep chasing stopping power.

@Sterling_vH111 ’s T4R setup w/Hawk and DBA would be the play to start with. I was about to swap some DBA 4000 rotors on right before I swapped to the Stoptech kit
