I think my V6 will outlast the Turbo 4-banger and leave it in the dust.

    Come at me bro.

You’re going to have to let it since it outperforms the V6 in every metric. At least on paper.

Yeah, at 200k miles the turbo will blow. There are a ton of 3.5 V6 blowing at 50k miles. Don't make me link the thread from here, TW.

Turbos do blow out, but so do N/A engines. Toyota is known for reliability, they aren't going to slap together some weak turbo motor for their best selling truck of all time.

I can't wait for the turbo 4, and would gladly buy it over something EV ANY DAY.

The turbo won't be noticeably faster near sea level, but I'm 1000ft and the highlander feels peppier in the new 2.4 form.

The hybrid model is for performance, so it will smoke any N/A V6 tacoma.

The 2GR Tacoma was a mistake. Come at me bro.

Meh, some other vehicle will always be faster, quicker, etc. Who cares.

Getting disrespected by a 4 cylinder is showing up to run your Bugatti Chiron at the drag strip. You make your run at 9.4 seconds, one of the quickest production cars ever. Not too bad for 3.3 million bucks. But damn, you lost to Lisa Kubo in her 7 second fwd Honda. Now that’s being disrespected.

Everything's faster than my truck at this point, only time it's at or above the speed limit is when it's sitting on the trailer

As someone who just went from a 2010 manual 4banger to a 2023 Auto V6...
I value fuel economy too much to battle you off the line...I'll win at 70mph for 400 miles...

Using S3 all of the time like @Rock Lobster and @Squirt told you ... bad idea. They were messing with you!

It's a $4k repair. Last week I replaced a turbo, intercooler, plus cleaned out the charge pipes on a Mercedes Sprinter 3.0L. It has 300k miles, and the turbo let go. With an intercooler set up, the intercooler normally catches all or 99% of all metal particles from the turbo blowing out.

So please, from all the non mechanics, from all the non turbo owning folks, stop hating until you own one and enjoy the power.

I'll be two trails ahead of the 4th gen while it punctures its 4" lower fuel tank.

But the turbo I-4 engine? Reliability is unknown until it hits the streets.

Their gas tank is 4” lower? We sure it’s not a Nissan Frontier with a body kit?
