How does this sound for starters?

Ok, from what I have read and been told, just looking to see how this is for a lift (with just a few questions). I was going to go with the toytec Bilstein 5100 adjustables with coilovers, toytec aal, AR thug wheels with bfg a/t 285/70/17. Now of course I will do a bit of trimming to avoid rubbing. What should I set the Bilstein 5100 at for this set-up to support the wheels. Should the be enough for a nice lift. I shouldn't need spacers right. and know nothing about a diff drop, is the needed and how much is it. I am looking more into looks with a comfortable ride, off roading will be an occasional thing. My Goal is to make the truck look good and have a nice quality ride on (and off) the road, not a huge off roader. So how does this sound for now and does it sound like a decent set-up, any advice more then welcome. I will also debadge the truck as well. I am hoping the coiloovers should be enough and not compromise the ride. Looking for a about a tree inch lift that looks level. Any opions more then welcome. This is my first truck, so very new.

Which springs are you looking at from ToyTec? I couldn't tell if you were talking about the ToyTec complete coilover kit with 5100s ($799) or 5100s then the adjustable coilovers, or just putting OME coils on the adjustable 5100s...

Also, the diff drop is only $30 and takes about 10 minutes to install. Some will say it's not necessary, but for $30, it's good insurance.

 

I am looking at the ToyTec complete coilover kit with 5100s ($799). I don't mind spending a bit of money for good quality. and for an extra $30, guess i will get the diff drop as well. Also will get the toytec aal set. So this looks ok and safe for the truck. Just looking for a nice basic set-up. Want a nice even lift that will support the bigger tires and make the truck look nice and hear nothing good about the 5100s for keeping a nice ride.

That's essentially what I'm running on the front except I added the Total Chaos UCAs. You'll need those (or camburg as SilverSeven suggested) to correct the alignment issues you'll have with the 3" lift.

 

What longhorn and silver seven said is good. If you go with toytec PM neabs for a discount. He got me one save some green.

 

Thanks guys, so all I would need is new UCAs. how much do they run about? How much of an alignment issue will I have. Also, how might I recalibrate the truck after puting bigger tires on?

 

The Total Chaos UCAs ran me about $690 shipped I think.

 

So I will look into the UCA's. I am hearing things like the tc bind, what does this exactly mean. Alos with a coil lift, do I have to worry about saging or should I be good for a long period of time. Also, how are the toytec spacers with the coil lift. is that a good set up? Just want this my tacoma to run perfect.

 

where are you getting these numbers?

TC advertises 9.5" and camburg; 10.5"

 

np, I wish you were right man because 12" would be great.. thats what the mid travel kits are getting tho, but for 4grand for everything i cant justify it
