Would I be able to find a fuse tap at a local AutoZone or Oreilly's? Or is that a specific item I have to purchase online like Soundman Suggested?
It running into the headlight wire sounds perfect to me. If that does not fix the issue I am sure it has to do with my splices.
Thank you so much for the help man after school today I'll hopefully be able to find a fuse tap and fix that issue.

They call them add a fuse, any of the big box local auto parts might have them . I ended up ordering a bag from Amazon when I was adding things to my truck.

everything should work when you connect the red wire to the battery. if it doesn't, and your suspicious of your splices, absolutely check your splices. adding the fuse tap is not going to alter this.

if you already have a heat gun, i would recommend butt splices like this to make the connections. if you follow the video on the product page, it's almost impossible to make a bad splice.
