I know this is a ridiculous question.

I recently became the owner of a SUPER clean, white 2019 Tacoma. It looks new - shiny and lovely.

I'm anticipating going on a 2-3 week roadtrip through Baja, and have some reservations of having such a shiny and new truck.

Does anyone have any honest to god ideas on making it look dirty? Yes, drive it through the mud. Except that out in Nor Cal, it's been a very dry season, and I don't have a ton of time to go a few hours away to just get the machine looking dirty, with looking like a 2 week from now departure and not much weather on the horizon.

Or maybe it's something that I don't have to worry about? It definitely shines and looks new.

My only real thought, which again - I know is insane and ridiculous - is to mix up some mud and throw it on the truck? And yes, I know again - this is all insane and stupid.

Is your concern that it'll be attractive to potential thieves?

Park it under a tree, and lightly hose down the leaves. The water will pull any dust/dirt off the leaves and drip onto the truck, it'll look nice and dirty once dry. added bonus of some leaves/twigs as well.

That said I don't think a little dirt will really deter a serious thief, especially in that area.

Right on - that'a a good idea. Easy.

I don't think so either, but it's just white and bright like the sun! I have a Ravelco on the truck, just not looking to stick out like a sore thump, so to speak. More just blend in than really deter.

Save yourself the trouble. Rent a truck from Home Depot instead. :mudding:

It sounds like you're driving down from NorCal, there should be plenty of places to hit an offroad trail and get your truck dirty on the way down as well

Thanks all. I knew it was foolish, but short on time, and like I said - the idea of throwing mud all over the truck didn't rub me the right way.

You could just drive it. :notsure:

I haven't been on a road trip yet where my truck wasn't filthy after the first 24 hours.
