Seems like it, though this forum might only be a small slice of total Tacoma owners.

Yeah doesn’t make sense, if you’re not going to keep it long term go buy something fun to drive and European.

I think the TH is definitely approaching that territory. If the DCLB hybrid is only available in a TH I may very well be looking into the Rivian. The Rivian will hands down smoke the the TH in terms of performance. But for a true overlanding rig it’s hard to ignore the flexibility gas gives you in the backcountry, the aftermarket support Toyota has and the basic proven durability that a conventional BOF truck will have. That won’t be applicable to most buyers who will strap on RTT and spend most of the time in the Starbucks drive thru.

I like the idea of a well used Toyota 4x4. It’s just feels right. Like a pair of well worn leather boots. Based on third gen sales numbers I think a lot of people have jumped into them from Subarus and other crossovers because they are cool at the moment, they’ll probably move on in a couple years when the overland trend dies down.

I like having no car payments. Both our Tacoma and 4Runner are paid off and neither have needed anything other than oil changes lately. That leaves a lot of money left over for vacations.

You may be able to get state money too depending on where you live. You also have to factor in whatever dealer mark ups will be on the new Tacomas. I think you may be getting a lot more truck for your money with the Rivian. Plus you get a frunk and a storage tunnel. We shall see soon.

That ZR2 Bison with front and rear lockers is impressive. Not really sure what any TRD pro substantially brings that much different to any other Tacoma or Tundra for that matter, other than a suspension kit and an annoying sounding exhaust.

Hey y'all, I hope everyone is well and I'm sorry that I've been MIA the most of the last couple months, been busy. I forget to answer that oil change question, that is below. I'm gonna try and skim thru the pages I've missed and get caught up.

Well, I've tried to see if they have the configurator up yet (they do not). It's gonna be a long night, ain't it?
In all honesty, I don't know if I'm really that excited at the moment, Toyota's plan to do a half now and half later reveal may go against them. Of course, my feelings may change in the morning--only time will tell.

Any last hopes or wishes on the 4th before we get our hearts crushed by reality lol?

(Also, have y'all seen the supposed 6th gen 4runner test mule? From the Angle I saw, I'm having my doubts.) EDIT: It's the next gen Nissan Armada! False alarm!

---- @Ryan's Taco, @Turd Ferguson, @SwollenGoat Dad doesn't believe in oil changes. When I was a youngin, he had his grandfather's 1987 Camry. My parents were hard on it. (still hard on stuff now. The Chevy Volt is tougher than you think!) The Camry had a oil leak and threw rod Number 2 (It was still running when he parked in the back forty). 337K Miles. His motto is "Dirty oil is better than no oil." That's that.

If it makes y'all feel better, the other vehicles that we run are maintained, they have some rough spots cosmetically. The Corolla is his kinda like work truck. It's been as great car.

---- @SwollenGoat Hello fellow hillbilly! Ya know, you kinda made me realize that I wasn't really thinking clearly about that. I was a kid and I wasn't considering my classmates point of view (and vice versa to a degree as well). I merely saw their views/opinions as inferior/wrong and mine a the straight, narrow, and only way. In many ways I was being as obnoxious as I felt they were. Of course, that's the wonderful part of getting older.
You're spot on about American Pride. Many companies use the same suppliers now. Its a wash now.

I'd prefer Toyota go with a simpler design language over all as well, but I'm sure that won't happening anytime soon. In my opinion, all manufacturers are guilty of too much right now . I am diggin this so much though:

How many miles do you get to a tank?

It only gets 17-18 mpg. You could probably get close to 400 miles if you ran the tank dry.

It's pathetic to me that anyone gets tax payer money for buying an EV or a hybrid. How that makes sense to anyone is beyond me. But the 4th gen taco will be a good truck just like the last 3 generations were.

Be angry that corporations get millions/billions in govt bailouts for their bad decisions. The little guy getting an ev credit is chump change comparatively.
