What are yalls thoughts from TRDJon that the 24 TRD Offroad with all the changes made is basically the same as a 3rd gen TRD Pro? Go to about 6:25 in the video.

There's so much "information" being dumped into this thread all at once that it's basically equivalent to electronic jamming (ECM).

It remains to be seen what you get for these prices. And, hybrid prices have not been released.

For the hybrid, I’m thinking it will be similar to the tundra differences between the gas and hybrid. Only a few mpg. Personally, I don’t think the hybrid in these trucks are meant for mpg, more for the other aspects they offer like increased torque.

Toyota hasn't even been using MAX MPG as a selling point but more low end torque and HP. The stuff many have been asking for, for years. Now Toyota has given it to the public.

It’s fun to speculate before release. Looking forward to the ebrochure and .com configurator.

Well….it better be improved for the hype that has surrounded it. Lol!

mpgs aren’t that much different than the Tundra. My guess was and still is the Tundra is the better buy. More power, better capabilities, with the same mpgs.

I think the TRDOR is going to be the best bang for your buck. I think even if you option for the big screen, front disconnects etc you can get out the door under 50. Very tempting but I am holding out for the Pro with hybrid. I can make it another 5-6 months.

I plan to go test drive some before then.

What are you referring to? It’s a tiny mpg gain over the third gen. People here were thinking the 4th gen would get high 20’s or even 30 mpg. I bet some of the Toyota engineers are sweating losing their jobs when the epa numbers come out. This was a huge project for negligible gains.

Why would engineers be worried about losing their job because some people on forums don’t understand engineering?

In 2021 Lexus sold 58,000 NXs and in 2022 49,000. Not all had the T24A-FTS but maybe half? In 2022 Lexus sold 96,000 RXs. Again not all had the T24A-FTS but there should be enough of them on the road that reliability issues would be known by now. NX is made in Japan but RX is made here (but maybe they import the engine?).

Why does he have to check math? He isn't saying it was supposed to be that much better

Just easier to park a mid size . Personally I'm more interested in what the 4runner will be . Rumors it might be a jeep /bronco competitor minus the removable doors has me intrigued. The land cruiser will be what the current 4 runner is for the soccer moms. I do see a lot of soccer moms driving lifted Mall crawer broncos as well though
