Spent the last ten nights in my FSR Aspen Lite camping in AR,TX,NM,CO, and OK. Working out great so far, first night it rained pretty hard and it handled it fine, a number of the nights were around freezing and zero condensation. Super easy to pop the dog into it from the tailgate, so nice not having to carry her up a ladder. Only cons so far is you really cant leave much of anything inside of it (I figured that going in) and said doggo managed to put a hole in the wonderfully comfy mattress...but that was more user error and NBD to patch. Going to try to find a fitted sheet or something to give it a layer or protection.

I have a ikamper on my Taco, it only weighs about 120 lbs but a PITA to remove from racks up high myself. I use my deer hanging winch to pull it off attached to a tree in the yard and then I can put it in the bed and store in garage myself. Primitive but effective. I thought about a fancy pulley system in the barn or garage but honest don't feel great about it suspended over my head or vehicles. I'm sure it could be done safely

    Yeah.
I use one of these: http://www.racorstoragesolutions.com/p/detail/phl-1r?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

I just have the bars attached, not the tray. I back under it, drop the bars down to the sides of the tent, and then use straps underneath and lift the tent and bed rack together up to the ceiling.

Got the Freespririt Aspen Lite mounted on top of my softopper with bed bars. Just mounted it so can’t give a review. First impression though, nice tent. Lightweight and mattress feels good.

    Not much stock left.
What are your initial thoughts? Did you have another RTT before this to compare it to?

I’m looking for a lighter tent option.

On a short bed the Aspen lite might sorta, kinda look like a diving board

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
It's not stupid if it works!

I mean, I just use a Gatorade bottle like a lowly peasant, but this guy's funnel is a thinking man's solution.

It’s very light, wind noise minimal while driving and easy to set up. Cons: small, less leg room, probably no good for someone 6’0 or over if two people in there. Good for 1 person over 6’0 sleeping diagonally. Expensive, have to buy ladder separately. Have to buy shoe bag separately. Thin mattress. Very many cons but price you pay for something that easy and thin. I also put a deposit on the new IO hardshell. I’ll compare when it comes out. Maybe sell this if the IO beats it out.
