They are driving pre-production trucks still, wait until they actually drive production trucks for that info

Reviews all like quite positive, especially concerning ride quality, handling, and engine responsiveness. Not in the market personally, but my partner has her eyes on an extra cab SR5 (would have greatly preferred the access cab) and we will drive one when they eventually show up around here.

Ah OK that makes sense. "iForce" to denote the non-hybrid numbers. So the slightly worse fuel economy is from heavier equipment and wider tires.

Because they did a massive redesign and only gained 1 mpg which is most likely from the snowplow air dam they had to install.
I wonder what they would have gained in mpg if they just kept the V6 and paired it with a modern 10 speed transmission?

Hey, looks like you engineers made a new truck with vastly better driveability, more useful power, far more torque arriving thousands of RPM sooner, and improved mileage by 5-10%.

    YOU'RE FIRED.

Believe Turd said 25 was for HWY in previous posts, the math is what compared to the 3rd gen?

Have you driven the new Tundra? Honestly doesn’t feel all that much bigger than a Tacoma. Plus I live in Idaho. People daily 1 Tonners here, see more of those on my commute than I do Tacomas.

As for the 4Runner, highly doubtful it will be a Bronco/Jeep competitor. They have been saying that for years. The FJ Cruiser was supposed to be and that thing was a total let down, no wonder they discontinued it.

I thought saving the world and limiting fossil fuel usage was priority number one in this country?

The Toyota press release says “Spring 2024” for the I-Force Max. Technically that could be as late as 6/20/2024. That would suck for people waiting on the Pro, Trailhunter, etc.

I never said it would be anywhere close to 30. About 700 pages ago there was a big discussion about it. Many here thought the mpgs would be in Maverick territory. LOL

So, you don’t actually think these MPG numbers are far off of what you expected?

I’m just excited Toyota has adaptive cruise on the manual trucks. Wish they had it on the 86 but I’m guessing that was Subarus call.

What’s going on here? Did you miss where I said 25 mpg and it’s actually 24? Do you skip half the posts?

    Right!?

Believe most rational people stated it would be roughly 1-2 mpg gains.

Whole lot of added complexity with negligible gains in tailpipe emissions.

So, the number came in almost exactly on your estimates, but you’re inventing this idea that engineers at Toyota are scared for their jobs?

Why, rather than invent things that you think OTHER people might worry about, just stick to what you actually think? This is textbook concern trolling, as has been mentioned already.

Were tailpipe emissions the driving force behind Tacoma sales at any time?
